sounds like a re-do of the Chicago primary rally. Break stuff, blame Trump. Even the other candidates jumped on that bandwagon. That's what firmly cemented me as a Trump supporter.

First, the riots are not grass roots people, but activists being paid for by Soros, BLM et al. Yet Stahl and the media are again trying to portray them as just regular folk using their right of free speech to express their opinion. Second, it is not PE Trump who has put fear in these idiots, if indeed they are fearful. It is the media, the Democrats, the teachers and basically the leftists who have instilled the fear in a lot of these people.

Love your post.

I think Trump needs, after he's been inaugurated, to sit down and have a chat with America one evening about the media. He needs to re-educate people. It would go something like this.

"America, we have experienced over the past 16 years (actually a lot longer, folks, a lot longer) a medium that calls itself news but is so partisan it fits the definition of propaganda. All the main newspapers and tv news shows and channels, rather than reporting their best version of truth, spent 8 years attacking President Bush. Then they spent the following 8 years fawning over President Obama. We've seen in the last two years, during this presidential campaign, the same obvious bias so clearly.

"A biased media does our country no favors. News should be as close to the truth as smart investigators can find. We do have freedom of the press in this country, and that is a wonderful thing. And that means that news organizations are free to engage in partisan propaganda. Fine, we can accept that. Yet, if we as a nation seek the truth (and we do, don't we folks?), we must have somewhere to turn to actually learn the truth.

"Which is why my administration has decided to give media members who demonstrate a strong effort to report the truth neutrally (no one is perfectly neutral, right? We don't expect perfection. We all do have opinions that can be difficult to hide) greater access to our goings on at the White House. We know that my presidency is only a start. All future presidencies and the American public gain from a robust, free press and lose from a partisan court of jesters.

"We welcome media from around the world every day, and will continue to. But American sources of the press have fallen behind their international peers in reporting the truth. (I got more accurate information during the election from the U.K. Daily Mail than from our greatest newspapers here! This can't happen, folks!). The only influence a leader of a country can have on his press is to reward honesty with access, and that is what will happen. It is my greatest hope that this will encourage more honest news reaching our hard working American people who don't have time to read seven sources and filter out the bias."

I dunno. People, myself included, have second guessed Trump all along. He has survived them all.

He will always be able to point at that 60 Minutes interview and say “I have the unfair media a chance, and look at what they did.”

One thing that came out of that interview that has essentially been ignored by the press is his rejection of the salary. If Hussein had done that, it would be applauded by every “news” organization in the nation. The man child would be spoken of as a great servant of the people. Trump does it, and they ignore him.

Trump can continue to speak on social media, his own communication platforms, and with media that will treat him FAIRLY.

Lesley Stahl showed herself to be a leftist hack. Never in a million years would she have treated Hussein or Hitlery the way she treated DJT.

I dunno, I heard somewhere on the news that this $1/year he will be taking is a slap in the face of the American public, showing off how rich he is.

Which I find absolutely, hilariously ironic. I seem to recall JFK did the same thing in 1960, and was met with effusive praise by everyone. And that was long before the Democratic party became the party of the perpetual complainers.

"What was he thinking?"

He was offering them a chance to redeem themselves at least somewhat. Instead, they proved conclusively that he was right all along. The mass media are committing suicide.

Just so you know who Lesley Stahl really is:

Stahl was born to a wealthy Jewish family in Lynn, Massachusetts, and was raised in Swampscott, Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Dorothy J. (née Tishler), and Louis E. Stahl, a food company executive. In 1977, Stahl married author Aaron Latham. They have one child, Taylor Stahl Latham. The couple currently lives in New York City.

Lesley Stahl showed herself to be a leftist hack.

**********

She has been like that as long as I can remember. There was no chance she was ever going to give Trump a fair shake. It was a predictable hit job.

That said, second guessing Trump has not been very profitable for anyone thus far. I too questioned some of his tactics along the way.

My main concern is that, at this early juncture when he’s trying to get his feet under him, is not a time to walk into an ambush or to give rope to your enemies in the media. Lesley Stahl is the last journalist I would have agreed to do an interview with.

"And just made up that every type of minority is being assaulted by “your supporters”."

For the sake of argument, let's say that 200 Trump supporters have committed some act of harassment or intimidation since the election. (I'm not conceding that: the actual, documented reports have been very few, fewer than 20 that I'm aware of, and there have been a couple of proven hoaxes.)

During that same time, there have been numerous PUBLIC demonstrations by ANTI-Trump people, involving graffiti, throwing rocks at police, breaking windows, shutting down public roads, setting fires, and dozens - perhaps hundreds - of death threats on Twitter and other social media. All of this has resulted in dozens of arrests, more than 100 in Portland alone. I have also seen three or four verified reports of Trump supporters being beaten up by anti-Trump thugs (since the election).

The media's response to this is that the anti-Trump activity has been "mostly peaceful." So, if "only" 40 of 1000 anti-Trump supporters during a particular demonstration cause trouble, the event is deemed "mostly peaceful."

Meanwhile, if 200 of 62 million Trump supporters cause trouble (.000003, or three hundred thousandths of one percent) of Trump voters), it is treated like a reign of terror. (Again, the 200 figure is made up just for purposes of argument.) The media have learned nothing from this election. They are evil, corrupt people.

Amidst all of the conflicting reports, there is one objective way to get a handle on who has been acting up the most: compare arrest statistics for anti-Trump and pro-Trump factions. Why won't the media do THAT analysis? Because it would show several hundred Dem arrests, and few if any arrests of Trump supporters? Would the facts "trump" the narrative?

There never was any chance of a redemption. Zero possibility. The leftist media scum are what they are.

When dealing with liberals you have to stay on offense 100% of the time. No let up.

What I don’t get is WHY IN THE HELL would Trump go on “60 Minutes”? It’s MSM, for Pete’s sake! He needs to boycott the ones who did everything they could to thwart him, and to bring down the USA.

He has to stop this crap. Freeze ‘em out. Give interviews to OANN, RSBN online, etc., instead.

Nope, and doubtful they ever will, as this is their bread and butter. The MSM can only survive peddling their 20 year old playbook.
They have been neutered and useless.
Trump will be the next Reagan, maybe even better!

"All of these media people kissed Obama’s butt when he was the president elect. Everyone thought milk and honey would flow down the streets because we had elected a person with mocha colored skin. It was sickening. I believe he was in office only weeks when he received the Nobel peace prize. For doing nothing."

This is a secondary issue, but it points to the media butt-kissing you referred to: when Obama was elected, the media fell in love with his snarly, bowlegged wife, labeling her beautiful and a fashion role model. Even though Trump's wife (and entire family) is inarguably the handsomest in modern history, I have heard ZERO media celebration of Melania's beauty and style.
