I’m starting to really hate the term “alt-right”. It layers an air of high tech hipness and modernity to the same old “ultra conservative” smear, and makes it look like this is yet another “dangerous” evolution of the conservative movement, when, just like “New! and Improved!” on a laundry soap label, it’s just a way of packaging the same old sh!t in a new package.
Isn’t that the point, though? In the past, any message, label, or meme for conservative thought was immediately smeared, mischaracterized, and mocked ... with the effect that the left wanted; the GOPe is terrified of being given a bad label.
The alt-right guys appear to understand that. They realize that no matter how correct something is, they will invent a hateful smear and demonize it. So, they’ve stopped caring if they are called 14 varieties of ‘-ist’ and keep on going, just as we’ve absorbed the ‘deplorable’ meme and made it a strength.
We lose when we acknowledge that their childish smears matter. We win when we ignore the tantrums and continue unabated.
I’m sure we got into his mess based on a previous understanding that the opposition was also comprised of rational human beings. The left in turn exploited that through Alinskyite tactics. Now we’re merely realizing that those games are stupid and refusing to play a game where we’ve lost before we start.
I pay taxes. ALOT of taxes.
I don’t want to pay for NPR.
Liberals LOVE. Funding causes. (Usually with other people’s money).
Let THOSE unemployed jack holes fund it.....

Sell off all NPR stations. Total coverage of USA should be worth quite a bit to pay down the Federal debt.
Public Radio stations are mostly run by the states. The Republican Governors could have strong control but never exercise their power
If curbing the radical NPR were the subject of a talk at the Republican National governor’s conference, there might be some positive action
If PBS had just properly licensed Sesame Street characters they would never have to ask for taxpayer funds again!

I certainly hope you are inundated. While I appreciate McEvers’ careful, and repeated, acknowledgement of the fringe white supremacist (what she calls “nationalist”) views expressed, I was appalled that NPR effectively legitimated such views by interviewing someone suspended from Twitter because of his hateful rhetoric and beliefs. While it is obvious that President-elect Trump's campaign has given such men a higher platform for their abhorrent and clearly dangerous views, I do not think NPR has to pander to them. Quote them if you must, report on their rise and organizing strategy and followers — but interview them as if they were any other figure of importance? That only entrenches their growing power further. This is beyond “balance.”
Ahh... the words of someone who obviously believes in free speech. /S
