Native American is a PC term intended to make it appear American Indians are the only persons native to America.

I detest “Native American”, considering I was born here, so am I.

Aboriginal would be a better term to describe American Indians. Indigenous may work too.

I’m just so tired of this PC crap.

Native American is a PC term intended to make it appear American Indians are the only persons native to America.

Nevertheless, it is a more accurate term than "American Indian."

I have an American Indian employee. He is spending Christmas in India visiting relatives.

I will go so far as to say that "Native American" is not an ideal term, but it is more accurate than calling the first settlers of the continent "Indians."

Just call then Indians. That’s what my Cherokee Great Grandfather did his entire life. :)

Neither “American Indian” or “Native American” are ideal terms, but American Indian is very traditional and very American. The term is a part of our history and culture since before we were a nation.

The left’s job is to destroy our culture, it’s been their job since the 60’s. Political correctness is just one of their tools. Native American is very politically correct.

Like I said, aboriginal or indigenous fits better. The Australians use the term “aboriginal”. The Canadians use the term “First Nation”, which is much more fitting too.

Anyone born in the US is native. Any person born here belongs here.

That woman who can’t gather goods or have her sheep graze reminded me of the Bundy case. If she were white they would have already tossed her in jail.

Nothing good can be done - it is a can of worms, a Pandora’s Box. Best left alone, unless you have some special insights into Constitutional law pertaining to treaty tribes that is. If so, then let’s hear it.

Many Constitutional scholars and Constitutional lawyers have had a go for many decades and solved nothing, while losing nearly unanimously before SCOTUS and in Congress; the constituent votes are not there - regardless of what others may think, plus there is absolutely no political will on this issue (DJT win not withstanding).

Prior inhabitants?

Previous persons?

Them that was here first?

Originals?

Oooh, "redskins", well except for the less sunburned ones further north.

Possibilities are endless.

Well, would you prefer ‘Plenty Lice’, the name of one of the Indians killed at the Little Big Horn.

The name is listed on one of the monuments at the battleground.
