But I have seen the red phone(s). When I was in the chef apprenticeship program at the Century Plaza Hotel in LA (as it was called then), we brought items up to the refrigerator of the Presidential Suite for President Reagan before he arrived. Since we were already completely cleared by security and the dogs were around, we were able to walk through his suite. There were two actual red phones. One was on the coffee table of the “living room” and one was in the master bedroom. I was shocked because I had assumed the term “red phone” was just a term for a special phone. I didn’t realize they were actual red phones. Kind of cool.
The only thing Obama is going to make is noise. And everyone is ignoringbeven that.

This comment is general and deals with the typical responses I see when discussion of Russia and Putin comes up.
What amazes me is that in 2016 we still have people, largely conservative, who refer to Russia as the Soviet Union and talk about KGB. I wonder if this is intentional or just low IQ? The Soviet Union and the KGB disbanded in 1991. I can’t recall any instances of someone in 1970 referring to Germany as the Third Reich, Nazi Germany, or Gestapo. Perhaps it’s due to a lot of older guys wanting to justify their life’s work and obsession? Amazing Cold War dinosaurs still obsessed with white Christian Russians as Sharia patrols are being set up in their cities.

As the press reports say that Obama's message was sent via the NRRC, we have to assume that it was in the form of an e-mail, and not a call through the secure voice channel. It was also reported that "the Obama administration had never used the cyber line before", but it's not really clear whether that means that the president never sent a message this way, or that the system was never used in any way.
The latter would mean that since 2013 no information about suspicious network intrusions has been exchanged between Russia en the US. The secure voice line for cybersecurity incidents has then probably also never been used - this kind of high-level direct phone lines seem rarely used in general."

We should all keep in mind that both sides of the aisle are going to run with the Russian angle, if it’s true or not, because they are all crapping their pants about having their emails made public.
When Obama threatened “armed conflict”, hopefully he meant that he would send all of the brave street soldiers who keep shooting up the streets of Chicago. One hand to hold the gun sideways, and the other hand to hold up their pants.
