but will the union back Trump for creating jobs for them?

Lets see, Trump has not even been sworn in, yet companies have decided to keep billions in company assets and thousands of jobs in the U.S., but your now concerned if the unions will like Trump? You should apply at CNN.

Gezzuz..

Michigan is now Red...

Next can we please return to referring to the CommiecRATs as the "Reds."

If Trump can undo EPA rules, the USA would be the plastics king!<> Low energy.

costs is the driver

Trump also needs to free up the big deposits of low sulfur coal in Utah that the Toon locked up

Cheap electricity drives manufacturing and petrochemicals.

If Ford can save $1,425 in labor costs for each Focus they produce in Mexico, then why are they canceling the plan to open the plant in Mexico?

Ford learned their robots don't have a press 2 for Mexican button?

And the "sell" part of this is the most difficult part of their business, because a compact car produced by Ford in the U.S. would be priced at a level that would effectively chase its potential buyers to a mid-sized car
This is one factor that killed the Corvair, besides Ralph Nader's long since discredited propaganda. They were good cars, but at the time the Chevy Nova was slightly more $$$, but a little bigger and more "conventional".

Marxists have been at war with the automobile for 50 yrs. They may have met their match.

Yup, marxists believe that cars are nothing more than major appliances, better yet they demand we give them up for mass transit, under the false pretense of saving the planet. They cannot tolerate anyone having “fun, fun, fun” and the leftists act as the “daddies” who would take our cars away if given the chance. (Cash for clunkers, for example)

---Just waiting for the media’s predictable narrative of “they were going to make this move anyway” to deny any credit to be given to Trump. The next four years the leftist meltdown will be great entertainment.--- It looks like you nailed that one . . . this is a response that I got on a liberal site I frequent. "<> Excellent question! I'll answer it. You see tiggs, what you just said there ... it's false. Totally false, and totally invented by a lump in your brain stem. Businesses have been making these decisions for a couple of years now, as the economy has steadily improved. The fact of the matter is, you just haven't been paying any attention, for two reasons: 1) You actually don't care about these decisions, and only pretend to care when it suits your narrative and 2) You ignore any of these instances you DO happen to read about, because you know you will go blind and s**t down your leg if it crosses your mind for even a millisecond that a success anywhere on the planet could be tied to the Kenyan Muslim. Any questions?"

>>>Wouldn’t be surprised if Michigan stays on the Republican side for many years go come if this good news continues.<<<

As LBJ once said under a different context and used an N word as opposed to the M word:

“We’ll have those Michiganders voting Republican for the next 200 years!”

Not seeing my point still: If it was ALWAYS cheaper to expand in the US, and twice the cost to move to MX - Why do it in the first place ?

I know why - or at least I think I do. It’s some kind of labor agreement with the Mexican government. I don’t think it is that far from a word called “Slavery”

Does anyone here get who really is in the hot seat in regards too this?

Debbie Stabenow, she is up in 2018....

So...

Does she go against a Tax Package? Trimming back the EPA? Killing and Replacing Obamacare? And all of the other pro-business initiatives that DJT will propose as legislation.

They are all needed IMHO to make this a go for Ford. And I don't believe Mark Fields for a second their wasn't a deal... I have no inside knowledge, but the Fund Raiser in Downtown Detroit the night of the DJT Novi Rallye, well, we still don't know who was in attendance...
