The State Department has been anti-Israel since the latter’s founding in 1948. They tried to interfere with Harry Truman’s recognizing the new state.
Been dominated by pro-Saudi “Arabists” ever since. This latest comes as no surprise.
Every embassy and consulate in the Mideast is in harms way. Those people are crazy!
What like in Libya? Obama and Hillary have been so very good at protecting our diplomats.
The peace process from their perspective is when Israel is no more and its Jews are driven into the sea.
That's also why Congress never followed through on the clear directive to reduce the State Department's budget if this wasn't done by 1999, either.

This issue wasn't even a priority for Trump during the course of his 2016 campaign. I challenge anyone to find a single campaign ad in which Trump even mentioned this at all. In fact, he took a boatload of crap when he came out in one of the GOP debates in early 2016 and suggested the U.S. needed to adopt a more "neutral" stance in the Middle East between Israel and the Palestinians.
Trump's litmus test is to "Make America Great Again" by following through on his promises. Making America great again has nothing to do with the location of a U.S. embassy in any foreign country.

Why would it be more dangerous to move the Embassy away from the daily missile barrages from the Gaza strip? Jerusalem is much more secure than Tel Aviv. I think the State Department lies like a muslim assuming no one will actually investigate. It’s not like there has not been an American Consulate compound in Jerusalem all these years.
