Tax dollars at work. Uh, how come we're on the hook for this assclowns comments? But hey, with 900,000, everythings gonna be A-Otay. Especially since the offended party(aka 'Buckwheat') was a frickin' GS-15. Srsly? The offender was required to attend diversity training. Then retired. Probably with a hell of lot better pension than I have. Swamp draining begins in 8 days.

The upside is that’s $1 mil. they did not have to spend on forcing Section 8 into your neighborhood.

Around end of 2012, I worked in a gov’t agency that had a guy in a ‘sister-organization’...who had gone and insulted some lady. I’d met the guy on two or three occasions, and he was the type that could very easily insult just about anyone. He was a GS-14.
The sister-organization went and did a review and concluded that he couldn’t stay. But they couldn’t fire the guy (more than enough rules were broken). So they worked up some deal where they gave him to our group with the intention of getting him to his retirement point (within two years).
I talked to others (government employees as myself) and they’d seen the same thing over the years. No one ever willing to just go the distance and fire people for incompetent behavior or unacceptable practices. It’s one of those dozen-odd things that bothered me about the whole Washington mentality. There needs to be some massive clearing of the whole million-odd employees in DC.

a million? Come on man.
Hillary’s state dept lost 6 BILLION
The defense dept can’t account for a few TRILLION.
Our REAL debt is probably 1/15 of a Quadrillion.
This is small potatoes :)

Exactly - I’ve seen exactly the same thing.
How does Trump fix things like that, which are CONTRACTUALLY obligated?

Ultra vires conduct never falls within a contract. It should void or at least make the contract voidable, such as it appears it would have here.

Only can be done if entire beuracracies are eliminated.
They can be brought back in a new form if needed.

HUD should be shut down or severely downsized, I've worked over 40 years as a contractor, with 10 years of hell at HUD. 100% of the work is done by probably 20% of the workforce. I once saw a fist fight break out between 2 middle aged civil servant women over an cubicle with a window that had become available due to a retirement.
I feel bad for Ben Carson, I honestly don't think he or ANYONE can straighten HUD out.

This and similar scams have been going on in the federal workforce for decades. They split the settlements with the accused after the check clears.

LOL! Not to Buckwheat. Just a little icing on the GS-15 salary. Hmm I wonder what WE get for that amount of money?

The offending boss was Mary K. Kinney, then-executive vice president of Ginnie Mae, which is part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

I think Ben has been sent there to get rid of this department, I think Trump THINKS sending in a VERY mild mannered Black man to do the job will not get as much flack HOWEVER Ben WILL get just as much flack as a pure white pit bull would have gotten!!! WE NEED to get rid of HUD, EPA, ENERGY, EDUCATION and the BIG ONE IRS!!!!!!

My gaydar just went off.Same here. When a woman's smile has the corners of the mouth turned downward, consider the possibility.
Also, just in general, when one side of any person's face doesn't match the other side, there's often a personality or behavioral issue.
Just my opinion/observations over the years.
