Jones had the Comet Pizza owner on his show back in December and has not talked about it since until yesterday.
Although I agree with you that Jones lawyers obviously had him do this so there is no liability.

I got hooked on Jones during the campaign when FOX News became anti Trump central. I flipped off my cable and watched Info Wars on YouTube via Roku. Like most I pegged Jones as a whacko but hes pretty much now a mainstream libertarian-conservative nationalist.
Jones played a huge part in the 2016 election. And he’s been right all along about the globalist and neocon scum.
I look at him as entertainment. The vast majority of his viewers don’t take what he says literally. Similar to Trump. He’s like watching a live meme - a mix of punditry and TV wrestling. He’s a guy that brings on guests and forgets to interview them, while going on rants about globalists. “We’re going to to go through this break...”
He’s no longer that cray cray 911 truther - he sticks to much more mainstream right wing topics now. One of the main sources for his daily news (which he spreads out on his desk) is ironically Zero Hedge which just mocked him (go figure), as well as most of the stuff you see on Free Republic - Breitbart, Gateway, Daily Caller, etc. His guests are all generally mainstream conservative leaning pundits and/or patriots.
After watching the more serious produced shows and pundits on Fox News I’ll flip on my roku and browse througn some Jones clips on Youtube before bed and mostly crack up with his predictible mannerisms and facial expressions. He just cracks me up... and he’s fighting the good fight.

Is Pizzagate real? I read the emails when released from Wikileaks. Some were down right strange such as those dealing with Spirit cooking. The Podesta hankie pizza map was another weird email. As for all the supposed code talk? I dunno if there is something there or not. Is there elite child sex rings. Probably. Is Podesta or Alefantis involved. I have no knowledge one way or another. I do know that Alefantis looked higher than a kite in a photo with Barney Frank.

This is surprising, as I don’t think he’s ever apologized fir anything like this before, but here’s the full story:
Infowars had a reporter, Joe Biggs, who was a fired up ex-Army guy who was right on the front line covering dangerous situations in person,
He went on the record claiming he had some electronic evidence showing comet pizza was selling children, and their sacrifice, A menu, in fact, that he showed and read on the airwaves.
It was very quickly proved a hoax, and cost Biggs his job at Infowars, despite his popularity, as threats of lawsuits were emerging. Jones likely thought that would insulate him, ut now he must feel thus apology was also necessary.
I would guess this means no one has been able to find anything concrete implicating comet pizza, yet, either, so maybe the guy is due an apology at some point. Pizzagate was always about more than just comet though, including Haiti and other places arpund the world that are still being investigated, with some success. A new trial is just now beginning with Jeffery Epstein, which could ensnaggle Bill Clinton as well.

My wife and I were watching him last night. When he told Alex that if he needed him, he was THERE, my respect for Alex Jones went up a couple of notches.
I know we always have to lead off any discussion with a disclaimer:

Last Sunday night, he released the letter to Nunes before any other MSM. He has whistle blowers on his show and despite constant interruptions, give them more airtime than anywhere else.
I call him “Hyper-Hannity” He is a hard show to watch, but I would never self censor myself from seeing what he and his guest have to say.

He went overboard with the pizza gate theories. Which then caused the whole thing to be lumped into a “conspiracy” which I don’t believe is.
It’s like anything with left, they wait for the most extreme element or statement and then debunk it all based on that.
Similar to the alt right movement - which was made up of mostly nationalist conservatives on twitter. Then some dopes hijack the term and give a mocking nazi salute in front of the press and there goes that movement.
Yesterday, for instance, he had that former CIA psychiatrist on who warned about Gorsuch, who was with the Justice Dept during the inception of State surveillance, rendition and torture. It all sounded crazy, especially when looking at that mild mannered fellow testifying before the Senate. When I did some independent research, however, turns out that Alex's guest was exactly right. This Gorsuch was fully prepared to serve his masters and sell Amercians' rights down the river. I never did like the guy—too quick to agree with whomever he was talking too, too polished to have every had an independent thought or a deep core of belief.
What was distinctly lacking in evidence was the Comet Ping Pong basement, there was and is no basement, along with other alleged evidence. Most of the speculation came from 4-tran and reddit threads full of disinformation, mainly on the pedophilia conspiracy side. The purpose of such threads is quite obvious, to spread misinformation and disinformation so that the people who use it can later be discredited. That's pretty much what happened.

Why should it? No one has any evidence against that particular business or its owner(s), which is the issue at hand.
What I saw there was the disgusting artwork (Tony Podesta) the associates of Clinton in Haiti (child trafficking ostensibly for illegal adoption) and other unsavory things plus the weird codes you mention. I surmised from the pizzagate origins that there was disinformation from both sides.
For example the defenders of Podesta could feed disinformation into a 4-tran forum undetected including disprovable allegations like the basement at Comet Ping Pong. The conspiracy explodes on right wing media only to implode later when shown to be untrue. But it would have the desired effect of discounting any mainstream attention paid to the unsavory aspects of the Podestas and their friends.
Yes, they know how to do that. A source like reddit or 4-tran gives them easy opportunities to do it. The only way to fight it is to carefully vet sources. For example if a story comes out about a basement that does not exist, then people need to look carefully at who first propagated the story. But those people will hide their trail.
One problem was in threads like those here our own in this forum where that careful vetting was not done.
