Those are very odd paintings. All he had to do was support the Republican nominee, who heavily criticized him, and he would have come across as the better man. This type of language, if he said it, demeans him and his legacy such as it is. His legacy is a colossal waste of American treasure, lives and money, for no strategic advantage.
