it’s the judgment of Barack/Michelle that is in question here. i believe they allowed Malia to intern with Lena Dunham - a year or so ago. really? strike one. then they agreed to letting her be on her own in NYC at 18. really? now they are surprised she is acting out. really? strike three. kids that age are not mature intellectually and need to be allowed to make mistakes in a supervised environment (of course most universities these days don’t really qualify....!).

Google Martin Nesbitt and Dr. Anita Blanchard and compare their photos to the Obama girls. The girls bear a striking resemblance. It’s certainly not definitive, but it’s interesting.

Well ... yes, of course. Barack still plays golf. Not much has changed. Michelle is left as a former food czar whose writ has been reduced to her own family, which has never paid any attention to it. Now that she can't impose it on schoolchildren, she's at loose ends.

I really don’t think it is appropriate to dragging the lives of the girls across the media stage. I do, however, want to point out that the propaganda media would spread (and do) every bit of dirty laundry on a conservative candidate’s child. It just shows the hypocrisy of the media.

We ought to leave her alone yes. But those parents don’t give two hoots about her. If they did they would not be paying the bills to leave her footloose in Manhattan at that age with no real job or school going on.
A gap year is like playing Russian Roulette. Can I take lots of risk, be out of studies for a year and will I be able to ever muster up the self discipline to go back to studying and a life of demands instead of partying, who knows lets roll the dice & see if I get AIDS, addicted, Roofied by my moral upstanding friends or if I’m safe and working towards my furure in a year.
