Beautiful Conch shells. Beautiful setting. I love seashells. I collect shells. I must have over 5,000. I can't come home from the beach without shells. I polish all of them. My house is always a mess because of my shells. Drawers are filled with shells, boxes are filled with shells. Glass jars are filled with shells. Glass door bookcases display my large, unique shells from the Carribean.
Broke my heart to sell one house with the swimming pool and deck I had inlaid in shells, although I made the buyers pay through the nose for that feature because "she" loved it. I was young then and it took me 6 months to accomplish the work to my satisfaction.
I've finally decided precisely what I'm going to do with all my small and medium size seashells, so I've been to Michael's & The Home Depot to purchase all the supplies for "my projects." Glue, glue guns, clear plastic that looks like glass, decorative bolts etc.
I'm going to cover Dr.O's old, sea chests from his Navy days with my shells to use them as coffee tables and end tables. They're not level now, but they shall be and the wood is very worn and the 3 rows of slats that wrap around the chests stick out about 3/4 inch which is perfect to glue the shells in between. Ditto for the top, except the slats are about an inch higher so medium size shells can be used along with the smaller shells and the flat Sand Dollars.

I have shells from 50 years ago...I have some displayed in window shelves in a hall and in both baths...I have cut down the collection over the years....I loved beach walking and looking for treasures...I have shells from Jamaica, Haiti, Florida, South Carolina, Mexico and Goleta, CA.
Good memories!
Enjoy your project! Sounds like a winner!

Wonderful, fabulous, awesome, fantastic! I also have shells my childhood, too! And, like you, from various trips. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring back any shells from the Hawaiian Islands, and I can’t recall any specific seashells from those islands anyway. I still find it impossible to come home from my local beach “empty handed!” I love to wade in the water, picking up “treasures!” I love low tide. Many days, Louie and I are at the beach at dawn! It’s a dream come true living within walking distance, although with my bad back, we drive. After an hour, I’m totally lame and totally sore from all the bending over to pick up shells, but I NEVER tell that to my doctor!
