*** The first show was May 23, 2013, and these former partners have decided that now they want to sue? ***
Texas used to have a 3 year statute of limitations on civil lawsuits. Has that changed?
These lawsuits against the Gaines couple seem to be crawling out of the woodwork lately.
I know there is the “bumped my head on a gazebo” one, the “unlocked wheeled gate” one, this one, and the LGBTQCZ are underrepresented let’s get them kicked off tv brouhaha.
I am waiting for Gloria Allred, and her daughter Lisa Bloom to get in on the act next.
exactly- there is no way the two famous explorers lewis and clark didn’t know that chip was speaking with HGTV BEFORE the deal was made- they were probably even offered roles on the show and like you say they didn’t want to go down that road- now they are whining that they weren’t smart enough to work in some kind of a better deal.
And, Fox News treats this as “News”? How stupid.
You posted fake news!

That is fake to trick people into buying that facial cream.
It’s not even an article, It’s an advertisement.
Reality meets Realty.
Reality TV is about people as much as process. Even if the partners did not know, they were compensated an amount agreed upon.
They can start another realty and proceed with a 5K head start, or work as agents elsewhere. I don’t see the damages. They were not pretty enough for the show, apparently.
As if that were the only way Linux impacted Microsoft!
I wonder of this suit will come under the legal framework of “insider trading”?
However, they apparently wanted out of the business or would not have sold their interest to Chip for so little.
Insider trading is under a ban having to do with companies that are on a public stock market.
The fact that it exists shows that it is believed unethical. To this day we are still asking ourselves how Hillary made such a killing on cattle. The sentiment does carry over to other situations, however.
Anyhow the law doesn’t have to cover every single moral situation. It would be even more unwieldy than it already is. There is still a God. Those who want to live by the sharp business will die by the sharp business.
“Fixer Upper” star Chip Gaines is being sued
I’d sue him for acting like ten year old child on this dumb show and allowing his wife unlimited access to condescending remarks...
Well, I did have the caveat of “folks peddling their names”. Sounded weird.
Thanks for the update!
I saw a link to that story about Joanna and her supposed burgeoning beauty cream empire. I looked elsewhere on the net for other related stories to back it up. I found none. It is BS apparently, the link was only clickbait. I was glad it wasn’t true, I really like Fixer Upper.
It’s all for amusement. Duck Dynasty really strove to keep it serious. A lot of others don’t.
Maybe those who were shorted money by being bought out in quiet were spared something worse.
Not enough information in the article or others to really tell who’s got the upper hand here.
However, it appears that HGTV was bargaining directly with Gaines, NOT with the real estate company. Gaines ended up using it to enhance the company, but I guess if his partners hadn’t sold, he could have quit and formed a new company and promoted THAT on the show.
But, maybe HGTV WAS specifically working with the company. Like I said, there just isn’t enough information readily available to tell.
Joanna has already said that whole cosmetics thing is a lie.
Sounds like an attempt to turn sour grapes into cash.
The LGBTWHATEVER is WAY OVER represented on every other HomoGayTV show.
You'd lose.
You’d lose.
hmmm...hyperbole detector been giving you problems lately...?
Ditto.
