They’ve adopted the hyperbolic language of the North Koreans, trying to convince us that imminent disaster looms just over the horizon. And that a change in our behavior can avert it.

While most will not live long enough to be derided as the fools they are, certainly history will laugh at them.

The land in La Jolla hasn’t moved up or down in the last 130 years. Neither has the ocean. Where is this sea level catastrophe happening? On a sandbar? At current melt rates, it will take 300,000 years for Antarctica to melt.

A lot of erosion has occurred over the last 130 years. In the blink animation above (click on the image to see animation) note that the rock under the three people standing on the right in the 1871 image is gone, and has formed a small island of boulders with three people sitting on it in the recent image. There is no evidence that sea level has risen.

A few Palm Trees have been planted, but the sea appears to be in exactly the same place it was 130 years ago. In fact the rocks on the upper right are higher above the water now than in the earlier picture (high tide.) There is no glacial rebound in San Diego, and the faults in the region are strike-slip (horizontal) faults. They don’t cause vertical movement. Prior to the March quake this year, the last large quake to hit the region was in 1862.

Why the he11 settle for 10 feet?

I'll see your 10 foot rise, raise it to 15' and throw in some non-stop gale force winds...as long as we're guessing a long way down the road.

You know, the global warming alarmists never have an answer for that. For millennia and during multiple cycles, much of North America was covered under sheets of ice more than a mile thick. This fact usually leaves them sputtering for answers.

So California, I urge you folks to build a 20 foot seawall all the way from Mexico to Oregon. It’s not like you don’t have the money. Come on. Get started on it.

We must have had it at one point in time. I have a parcel of land at 5800ft near Seligman that is covered with fossils of nautilus shells and other aquatic animals.

Exactly. The price of waterfront property on the West coast is higher then ever. Which should not be the case if people REALLY believed the GW clat-trap.

And, BTW, I’ll bet most of the people who own that property are rich liberals who will swear up & down that GW is a reality.

Every 70 years they say this. The Pacific Ocean is, as always, lapping at the living rooms of all the celebs in the Malibu Colony. No such luck yet. They keep giving us hope.

Yes, CALmatters is exactly as you described, re-cycled leftists and this article was coordinated with the lame protests. It would be interesting to see where their funding comes from. Their website has them on the wrong side of every single issue.

And Republicans could get balls.

Believe me, Phoenix would be beachfront before then.

he reality is the very rich elite liberal Californians, NYers, Texans, ChiComs, Canadians and French are buying homes and property on the California coast at a very high rate.

That is driving prices up for the entire California coastal area.

If they really believed in their Gorebull Warming BS, they would not be buying coastal property.

I am at 147 feet above sea level in downtown oceanside looking at a panoramic view of the ocean. I welcome the higher tide. I am 9 blocks from the beach. Maybe I will eventually be only 3 blocks. Good deal. Higher values, fewer people between me and there. Bring it on.

This is going to be terrible. When you look at what has already happened that was forewarned by Al Gore, such as in NYC:

...and Washington D.C.

It is pretty clear that most of the world's population will be under water in a year or two and safe rooms will be built on mountain tops.

Wow! The only better news would be that it’s going to happen in 72 hours, rather than over 70 years. That would be as great as hearing that California seceded overnight!

Shill nye has really destroyed his brand. My kids grew up watching his original shows and now they hate him. It was, to quote them, a massive red pill moment.
