I do like a few of the other things trump has done, but I have been never amnesty a long time.
Last I knew, there was an almost 500,000 case backload for deportees. What the heck do you want Kelly to do? He can’t pick them up and chuck them back over the border unless Trump and/or Congress enable him to do so.
Now if they do and he doesnt, that’s worth a hissy.

The FBI Director said Wednesday that his agents are not actively trying to recover money from bank robbers who have had the funds for more than 48 hours, but pleaded with Congress to pass a bill granting them a more permanent legal ownership of that cash, saying only lawmakers can solve the problem.
The Director declined to take a position on whether the 2012 amnesty President Obama created for bank robbers is legal, but said the “Dabber” program, known in government circles as DABR or Deferred Action for Bank Robbers, is still in effect. He said “robbers” who have been properly approved for DABR will be safe from arrest, but said those who haven’t applied, and some who were approved despite having criminal records that should make them ineligible, will be arrested.
One of those Dabbers, Willie Sutton, will be in federal court Thursday asking a judge to reinstate his DABR status after it was revoked earlier this year. His case could determine whether DABR is a discretionary grant that can be revoked, as the Obama and Trump administrations have argued, or whether it’s a right enforceable by the courts. “When my DABR status was taken away from me, it basically took my life away,” Mr. Sutton said on a conference call with reporters Wednesday. “It was an arbitrary decision. I had been granted DABR before and nothing about my circumstances had changed.”
I thought this was one of the things Pres. Trump was trying to overcome. We can’t be rewarding illegals;that would be like admitting they’ve committed no crime by being here illegally. That would be like saying Nancy Pelosi is right. No way!
What I understood him to say was that they were NOT targeting DACA specifically, per Trump's orders not to rescind DACA status, but they were going to repatriate ANYONE, even DACA's, if they violated their "protected" status by breaking other laws. That included repatriating them if they don't fill out their DACA papers correctly.
His comment about passing a law is correct. If they (illegal loving Legislators) don't like Kelly following the present laws, they can go change the laws and face their constituents.

I just find it refreshing to find a Govt official who says they are going to follow the laws on the books, since the last 8 years were full of people who seemed to think that laws didn't mean anything...... unless you were their enemy....and then they would use, and sometimes pervert, those same laws to destroy you.
Gen. John Kelly is of course a Trump pick. He answers to Trump.
