The whole point is still how a system with Windows XP is used. If any system is operated isolated from the internet, wi-fi, bluetooth or other media interface software, then the vulnerability to hacking in nil.

The only way to pollute the system under those circumstances, is to introduce a virus using portable media devices.

That’s right. And XP is wide open to anyone with physical access to the hardware - no matter what their level of permissions are. Modern operating systems are not, or at least very much less so.
