The dems would be nuts not to run another minority, just look at the difference in minority votes Obama vs Clinton received and the states they came from. That’s the difference in the 2016 victory. But I’m not sure minorities turn out for a minority woman like they would a minority man.

I think she’s a likely choice actually, and not the worst one they could make. In fact given the crap they have to choose from, much of which is 200 years old or older, I can’t think of a better one at the moment.
Shillery would have won with Obama’s Black turnout, motivating that is key for them.

No matter who they choose, 50 state landslides are off the table. Hard to imagine California or Maryland or MA voting Republican. If you take the 6 states Hillary won by over 20 points, MA, CA, VT, MD, HI, NY plus DC, that’s worth 115 electoral votes. That’s 3 more than Dukakis won. That 423 for George HW Bush in 1988 might never be surpassed again.
