Not in the 20th century way of looking at the world.

He’s a populist. Like the former Governor, George Wallace of Alabama, both loved and hated by Dems and Repubs alike. Got hisself paralyzed by gunfire into a wheelchair because of his principles. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore.

In the past, a conservative would make a proposal, the media would lose their minds and accuse them of being *gasp* a CONSERVATIVE and they would sheepishly apologize and stop....
Unless you were a liberal, and then the media would ask you to proudly proclaim how conservative you were! It seems like the only people standing up as proud conservatives were lying liberals.
Until Trump.
Now, all the usual stuff is not working.

Question is: are Repubs listening to (reading) this?

Next to
(Daniel Greenfield) "...while we were playing by the rules of dignity, collegiality and propriety, the Left has been, for the past 60 years, engaged in a knife fight where the only rules are those of Saul Alinsky and the Chicago mob."......Evan Sayet is just as entertaining and knowledgeable about his subject.

IMO, Trump is a pragmatist. It just means that he is conservative in his outlook on most things. Pragmatists tend to empirical data to decide an issue, not like libs who feel they can get to the correct answer based on their feelings about the issue.

“He isnt conservative, period. Typical or otherwise.”
Could you perhaps delineate his liberal agenda? Just a few examples would suffice.

I feel the need to fix the article title :
Evan Sayet: Trump Is Not the Typical Conservative Republican He Fights and He Wins
Though conservatives by and large, respect and appreciate what he is doing to make America great again, I'm not sure it would be accurate to place him under the conservative banner. I don't know if even he would appreciate the title / if he considers himself to be a conservative. But ... regardless ... he has this capital-C conservative's unabashed support.

He a populist and unprincipled one at that. I only voted for him because he wasn’t Hillary.
To: Mouton
Taking that a step further, Trump IS a pragmatist.
And while the liberals’ flaw may be substituting feelings for critical thought, the traditional conservative republican’s is being single-issue absolutists.
I’ve lost count how many effective “good” people have been thrown out in favor of ineffectual “perfect” types.
I’m behind Trump 100%.

Doesn’t scare me. Twenty-seven years supporting the warfighter.
Shame your end of the gene pool only comes up to your ankles. Your family tree look like a telephone pole?
