Its a shame the Framers didn't consider including the office of dictator to deal with existential threats.

Wage relentless war on them. Kill enough of them and degrade their abilities to the extent that they dont dare raise a sword against us again.
I don't know if there is ever an "enough" for them. They are religious fanatics of the worst kind - the more you kill them the more they want to die. I have no idea of what the future holds but I'm pretty sure it's going to be bloody.
