Sorry for the unannounced spoiler, and giving away the plot line, but this was a show that could easily have gone South.
I was pleased that it didn’t.

First time they’ll have an openly gay couple...not just a gay character, but a gay couple. I heard a rumor about that, but did some googling and it’s true. That did it for me, I think I’ll skip it.

Will you want to continue watching and pay for it? Watch tonight's episode and decide for yourself. Nah, I'll pass. If I want PC sci-fi, I'll stick with "The Orville". It may be PC and cheesy, but it KNOWS it's PC and cheesy and has a little fun with it, IMHO.

I have extremely low expectations for this series and they get one episode.

The episode (#03) where they were going to perform a sex change on an infant was covered more from a middle to Right side of the isle position. That episode was nothing more than a homo-promo. They threw in the transgender stuff to make the gay relationships look normal.

Well... that’s one way of looking at it.
Not sure how much I buy that, because it would have been a lot simpler to just have two human race guys shacking up, if that was the goal.

On Twitter, Isaacs said that, if he had the ability, he would take a knee on the bridge of the USS Discovery. Isaacs plays the captain of the Discovery, Gabriel Lorca, on Star Trek: Discovery, which premieres tonight.
***********************************************************
What the hell am I missing here? Assuming ‘Gabriel’ is referring to a female officer which I’ve seen in previews and Isaacs refers to himself as a ‘he’ I’m totally lost. I’ve never heard of this paying to see the continuing episodes??????

Hell, Spock never ever mention an adopted sister but then again, he never previously mentioned the brother that took them to see God in Star Trek V.
That's the one thing that the miserably cursed Star Trek 5 had in it's favor.
Shatner wasn't afraid to take chances.
If I'm ever blessed with the chance of meeting him, I'd ask to shake his hand to thank him for what he did with Star Trek 5.
And, of course, for Kingdom of the Spiders.

I'm trying to not have expectations, good or bad, and just let the show speak for itself, but the reviews are making it hard for me to not have low expectations.
I am trying to like The Orville, too, but it's what I thought it would be. I'll give it some more time, but...
As it is, I get my SciFi fix from Star Trek Voyager reruns while waiting for the next season of Star Wars Rebels to start.
It is a cartoon, but I've really enjoyed the first few seasons so far.
It's so good that I'm somewhat depressed that Disney produces it. Thankfully, they haven't messed it up...yet.
Hopefully, I'll say the same thing about Star Trek Discovery.
If Discovery is at least as good as Enterprise was, I'll be happy. I liked Star Trek: Enterprise.

Jason Issacs is a Brit, he can take a knee to the Queen.
Estimated ET start time is now 8:48 pm. Thus why I stopped trying to watch programs on CBS on Sunday nights.

Yes, coming to the rescue of $24 million dollar a year players is sure in vogue. I mean, they are so exposed to treachery these days.
New captain can take a knee to the groin for all I care.

I suppose I could watch the scenes with Michelle Yeoh and the sound off.
Especially if they script her a girlfight, then the sound goes back on.
