I know some folks agree with you there.
There is some truth to it. I don’t agree that this will be a problem to the degree others do. There will be jobs available.
You know, people don’t have to make massive wages. You get two people making $12.50 an hour, and that’s $52,000 dollars a year.
If people want to, they can get out of poverty.
That is far less than they receive in benefits now.
Many companies structure their employees time so they can remain on welfare. Walmart and others do this pretty much non stop.
And it won’t be two people, it is one. A woman won’t marry a man (typically) unless he has financial resources. A man making minimum wage or below will not get married. The loss of benefits for both parties would be on the order of $30,000 a year.
That is the trap.
Go out and talk to people on the bottom. Look at the situation. We are building the basis of a communist underclass that will be used to kill us.
Taxes in California:
1. High state income tax
2. High sales tax
3. High motor vehicle tax
4. High cost of electricity & brown outs
5. High cost of water & shortages
6. High property tax on all newer homes.
We tried CA for a year and got out of CA ASAP.
THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS YOU CAN STAY IN YOUR HOUSE A LONG TIME AND THE PROPERTY TAXES ONLY INCREASE IN VERY SMALL CONTROLLED INCREMENTS.
YOUR LIST SHOWS WHY CAL IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST IF NOT THE HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY.
I LIKE BROWN’S STEALTH APPROACH OF SNEAKING IN NEW TAXES. NOT ONLY DID HE RECENTLY BRIBE A REPUBLICAN TO PASS A GAS TAX INCREASE, NOW HE SIGNED CLIMATE CHANGE LEGISLATION WHICH HAS A HIDDEN 63 CENTS A GALLON INCREASE.
DON’T KNOW WHEN OR IF THE PEOPLE IN CAL WILL REVOLT BUT IT SEEMS LIKED WE’VE BEEN LULLED INTO SUBMISSION. PLEASE SIR MAY WE HAVE ANOTHER TAX INCREASE. THANK YOU!
It’s called the will to win.
Two people making $10.00 an hour WILL EARN over $40,000 dollars a year.
That’s more than $10k over the poverty line.
$40,000 is poverty.
It’s certainly not the income level I would like to live at, but $40k is not poverty.
Two people can make ends meet on $40k, and they are no longer a burden on society.
Here are the 2017 government set poverty levels.
I do think they are set too low.
