I woke up to this and am in grief for my fellow Americans and any visitors who were caught up in this. The sounds I heard were of a full automatic weapon. The responders acted in the best traditions of our people.
The break this man had would be consistent with a sudden religious conversation to Islam. Otherwise it’s hard to see how a psychotic break could cause such a well planned expression of hatred.

I read on another thread that the woman was an Indonesian muslim whose first husband was a far left guy. If true, this makes me suspect that she manipulated this guy to do the dirty work of ISIS. Apparently she was out of the country when the attack too place - also suspect.
It seems after the attack at the Arianna Grande concert, security might be fairly good on the ground now....causing the shooters to move to higher ground. This is why I am suspect....plus it’s got ISIS written all over it.

Good point. A terminal illness could bring about the snap but there’s likely to be a pre existing grudge or antipathy toward something. I am leaning toward Trump being a factor because it’s already happened once. An ex wife could be another.
ISIS is many things, evil probably the most prominent. But they are also very competent and professional. That is what makes them a dangerous enemy.
It is to soon to know if this is, in fact, either an ISIS run or inspired attack. However the killer obviously planned this operation well. That indicates a stronger possibility of their involvement.
Though to be fair, lone nut bars are capable of planning and executing devastating attacks on soft targets. Charles Whitman being the most relevant and comparable example.
ISIS threatened an attack on Vegas back in May.
She visited a niece in Dubai in 2016 and said on FB that she had a wonderful time and would return the next year.
You would be surprised at how many legally owned full autos are out there. I don’t have the numbers at hand but I’m sure some one may have it. Criminal, drug lords and the dark underbelly wouldn’t care about legality. Regardless, prayers up for those affected.
