That room really is tacky even without the dead body,

I'd kill myself in 14 seconds if I had to stay in that hideous place. Perhaps it drove him over the edge. But then again, there are all those guns

Well, in Nevada they had on display the Model-T shot to all hell that carried Bonnie and Clyde in their last moments.

Who knows? In 40 or 50 years, if the room were left untouched, it might be kind of a sick, touristy draw. Just sayin'. That after many years, horrid remnants of death and crime are put on display for the curious all the time....for a quick buck. Heck in Dallas they even made a museum out of that Marxist misfit sniper's perch and people pay $$ to go up there and check it out.

The fainting couches at the Venetian are pretty cool.

Not sure what you are supposed to do with that thing.

Appears to be a staged scene.

What’s with the golden animal print bathtub in the middle of the room?

I believe the "bathtub" is actually a tete-a-tete which when not in use can be repositioned to be more compact (and more visually interesting).

Above you see a model that stays perminently in the designed conversational positioning.

So the one in the room can be pushed so the two halves appear to conjoin.

Why is there so much ammo left unused?

I think the security guard who went to the door of the hotel room saved many lives and injuries.

The shooter shot through the door at the security guard, hitting him in the leg.

Because of the security guard, the shooter apparently was under the impression that police were coming for him at that moment and decided to go ahead and shoot himself, with much ammunition left.

But he could have checked his cameras and seen that he was free to continue shooting for a long time.

Plus, why not take out some more conservative folk and really go out with a bang. Or better yet, leap out the window.

"Looks to me like he was putting the bipod down on some kind of brace and letting fly." Image and video hosting by TinyPic Makes sense. See that chunk of metal on this MP38 sticking down on the underside of the barrel close to the muzzle? That was so you could stick the barrel out a port and not worry so much about recoil causing you to spray the inside of the tank or bunker. He may have used the bipods the same way: not so much as a bipod but to hang over a window frame to help with recoil because he was planning on extended auto firing. He was just spraying into the crowd.

Thank you. It was good to see him like that. Clearly ate a bullet using the same rifle he used to kill others.
