This says they had nothing to do with the dossier. They used the same company, but not for this Russia stuff. This had nothing to do with what Hilary did.

Editor-In-Chief Matthew Continetti is married to Bill Kristol’s daughter.

Well, well, well! Time to sink Bill’s ship once and for all.

This appears to be unrelated to the "dossier" or any of that. They were just another client of Fusion GPS (in this case getting dirt on Hillary).

I'm sure Fusion has had many clients.... they're aren't necessarily connected to the dirty dossier situation.

wiki:

Continetti was born in Alexandria, Virginia.[3] He is the son of Cathy (née Finn) and Joseph F. Continetti.[1] Continetti graduated from Columbia University in 2003.[4] While in college he wrote for the Columbia Spectator and the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s magazine, CAMPUS.[4] In summer 2002 he did a Collegiate Network internship at the National Review, where he worked as a research assistant for Rich Lowry.[4][5] He joined The Weekly Standard as an editorial assistant, and later became associate editor.[4]

His articles and reviews have also appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Financial Times.[6] He has also been an on-camera contributor to Bloggingheads.tv.[7] He has criticized Glenn Beck as “nonsense.”[8] He has argued the American media turned on Sarah Palin during the 2008 campaign because they had blind allegiance to Barack Obama.[9] He has criticized American academia as uniformly left wing.[10]

Continetti lives in Arlington, Virginia.[6] He is married to Anne Elizabeth Kristol, the daughter of neo-conservative writer William Kristol.[1] Continetti converted to Judaism in 2011.[11]

Did some quick research. Free Beacon LLC is the parent company, registered in DC, VA and DE........looks like they withdrew their corporate filings as of yesterday.......duck and cover......

Agreed. The Steele dossier came post-republican oppo research. However, I’d be interested in knowing if Fusion GPS has ever had conservative clients. From my understanding their clients are lefties.

The original arrangement between the Free Beacon and Fusion GPS involved opposition research into multiple Republican candidates, not just front-runner Donald Trump.

Sources close to the Free Beacon stress that the project, when the Free Beacon funded it, had nothing to do with Russia and did not involve Christopher Steele, the former British spy who gathered anti-Trump dirt in Russia. Steele was retained by Fusion GPS when the project was funded by Democrats, and not in its initial phase, when the Free Beacon was involved.

That’s where it gets confusing. If they hired Fusion GPS, researched several Republicans, not just Trump, and we’re out before the Steele dossier - - why did their lawyers make that statement? How are they even linked?
