The way I see it, Trump allowed the ring leaders of the Bribery and Treason Scandal be in charge of the Russian Influence in American Politics. These ring leaders did not know at the time that Trump had the details of the Treasonous Acts.
Seems to me that Mueller does not come back with an Indictment against Himself, Rosenstein, Comey, Clinton, and Obama as well as many many others, El Presidente or one of his surrogates, see Hannity, will release the goods and blow the whole thing wide open. Because they appear to Know All the dirty little secrets and are publicly letting him know his goose might just be cooked.
I think that perfectly nails it. As far as the timeline though, unfortunately I think this plea deal they are referencing may have been set well after the CFIUS approval was given, so the exact involvement level of Mueller et al at that time is still unknown exactly.
The only one who we know of who may be willing to speak to that is the "FBI informant" but it's not clear if his statements are going to be made public. At least those are my thoughts, feel free to add any more of your own.

Do you think Hannity is micromanaged to the extent that he is told to give Geraldo that much air time, and to have the last word as well?

Who signed in what capacity? If Rosenstein signed obo the government, he is just accepting the plea made by the Russian businessman. That’s normal procedure. If the other attorney signed it as the Russian’s attorney, then he has a conflict.
We need to know what role each played before we get excited.
