I’d like to try a Model 8. I think I’ve only seen one.

Also made in .30-30. I've always wanted a model 8 since I have a Marlin 336 and Henry Golden Boy, both .30-30.

They are available.

I have one made at the beginning of 1907.

I also have dies and brass. It is chambered in “30-30 Remington” aka .30 Remington. They were not called the model 8 until 1911. This one has to be one of the very first chambered for the .30 Remington.

The finish is badly worn, be mechanically it seems good.

The .30-30 Rem is not the same as the .30-30 Winchester.

Ballistically the same.

Cartridge dimensions the same... except for the rim.

The Remington case is rimless, the Winchester case has a prominent rim.

I am thinking of selling mine.

I’ve argued with atheists about morality. Their take is that morality comes basically from a group consensus. When I point out that group consensus changes and that eventually it could change to say that rape is okay against certain people. They immediately deny it and then I point out that many Muslims believe that it is okay to rape and kill non-Muslims and they are rapidly taking over Europe.

I also point out that the belief in no higher power in the afterlife or no afterlife at all leads many to go against conventional morality and decide that they can do anything they think they can get away with. After all, if Christians are forbidden to impose God’s morality on them, who are they to impose their morality on someone else?

I have a 5 shot 1903 Springfield bolt action military rifle. It is designed so you can pull the bolt out and replace it with a semi or full auto conversion. It also has a thingy on the front end to stick on a spear point, and a club on the back end.
Enough to give the MSM the heebie-jeebies.

Somebody should market a semi-auto conversion .32 acp for bolt guns. Shouldn’t be too hard. Mail order. Sell them with 30 rd magazines, or 10 rd mags special order.

That is an interesting idea. Remington could sell their model 700 in .35 Whelen and have it come with a modern update of the Pedersen Device in 9mm.

Or maybe one in .308 and .32 ACP. The bullet would be a tiny bit oversize but not enough to cause a problem.

Also I wish some fast acting company such as Ruger or Savage would come out with a modern copy of the Spanish Destroyer Carbine. It could be in 9mm or .38 Super.

Yes. Another fantastic forgotten epic is Melville’s “Billy Budd” where a mutiny is put down this way.

That is the fundamental problem with all the Humanist worldviews: the source of morality is men, and in some cases, men decide that the universe is so neutral that there can be no morality. There just is now with no past or future.

The next problem is the non-Christian theistic worldview: the source of morality is a set of laws and a balance of some sort. Even Judaism is wrong in light of the “new” information obtained 200 years ago.

America’s source of greatness was the Christian worldview. It is the only thing that made our freedom viable. Our Constitutional freedoms are a horrible thing in the absence of Christ because they become the freedom to be depraved.
