If this was all President Trump got done in his first term, I'd say he was successful.
Getting rid of Obamacare would make him WILDLY successful in my book~!

Getting the border wall built will make him the best president of my lifetime and most likely one of the best in history.

Agreed - BUT this Congress as presently constituted is NEVER going to let Trump build a wall between Mexico and the USA. Too many swamp dwellers want that border wide open for various reasons.

Sotomayor and Kagan are without question the least qualified to sit on the court in my lifetime, but Kagan is flat out incompetent. While neither should be on the court... Stomayor is a legal god compared to Kagan.

No recess appointments for the SC. It’s in the constitution that the senate approve them.

Article 2 Section 2 does say “all vacancies”, although they are supposed to expire at the end of the next session. Given Obama’s predilection for sidestepping the Constitution, his interpretation of “all vacancies” is not necessarily the same as the Constitutional one.

It’s not just Obama’s predilection. In the article I found the following most telling:

“During a high-profile argument about politics in redistricting in October, Gorsuch began a question by suggesting that “maybe we can just for a second talk about the arcane matter, the Constitution.”

“To Epps, the tone was all wrong, especially for the new guy on the nine-member court. “I’d love to see a bit more recognition that the court deals with really hard questions that many people, including his colleagues, have struggled with for a long time. If someone thinks he has all the answers, maybe he’s missing something important,” Epps said.”

So this guy thinks the point of the court is to struggle with ‘hard questions’. No, they are supposed to APPLY THE LAW to the question at hand by referencing the constitution. No wonder we have such issues with leftists.

Indeed the “hard questions” are answered by the Constitution.

Kagan, Sotomayor and RBG are the judicial equivalent of Antifa.

#50: "Kagan, Sotomayor and RBG are the judicial equivalent of Antifa."

It's one thing to have judges who are different politically, But to be leftist and completely unqualified is far worse. At least many of the leftist judges of the past had legitimate experience and credentials. These three judges look like they were picked at random out of a Manhattan phone book.

How many faux conservative people can you name that wanted Hillary to be picking the Supreme Court Justices?

Every Never Trumpster, who tried to stick a knife in Trump’s back 24/7 on FR and other internet sites for all of 2016 and 2017!

“Fine, but since my taxes will go up by $6 under the Republican plan, I still think Hillary would be a better president.

(the rationale of SOME PEOPLE HERE [not you] regarding the Republican tax cut plan, on another thread)!”

Or whenever a bot posts a NySlimes or Compost oped lying about Trump, and the brainless bots jump on the thread with a “Right on!. Trump has lost my support because of this Fake News!”

If they don’t believe in original intent, the only meaningful view of the Constitution, then they have no business being SCOTUS justices. Check out RBG speaking overseas, bashing our Constitution (the one she took an oath to support) and praising the one passed by Commies in South Africa.

Yes, if they don't follow original intent, then a priori it's unconstitutional. A "living constitution" is no constitution at all.

They completely fail to understand that the constitution is not a statute. The constitution contains the axioms of our democracy, from which all laws are derived. The constitution is not derived from our laws.

Careful with wording. We are not a democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic. Democracy is for socialists. I taught my children that democracy is the system where your neighbors can gang up on you and seize your house.
