Thanks for elaborating on point of underbrush not being done for controlled burns. It’s a significant factor in these fires.

Thanks for sharing the chatter of the firefighters. Having river rafted in Idaho after one of the conflagrations, I’ve seen the forests unable to recover at all for probably a century. The thought of those poor wild animals incinerated because they can’t outrun the fire is the worst part. Human beings have some ability to save themselves. I hope Trump’s EPA will reverse the methodical destruction of the great Western United States.

So beautiful! There is nothing like seeing Van Gogh’s paintings. To see them is an experience. I really think that they have some kind of transmittable energy that one experiences when one witnesses them in person. I went to a huge Van Gogh exhibit at The Chicago Art Institute. I will always enjoy that memory.

Approximately 25 race horses were killed when a wildfire engulfed about eight barns at a training center in northeast San Diego County, the California Horse Racing Board said. Other horses that were in surrounding pastures remained unaccounted for.

Nearly 500 horses were stabled at the San Luis Rey Downs training center in Bonsall when the fire erupted amid strong Santa Ana winds Thursday, and workers risked their lives to free horses from stalls and herd them into safer areas, a board statement said.

500 tourghbreed horses or there abouts running free for their life gives us an idea of the animals in nature also running for their life.....such a sad situation for the animals. These fires ate up 50 acres in ten minutes which gives us an idea how fast these start and move.

Not as big as the Getty by any means, but I’m wondering the status of the Pierpont Inn up in Ventura. Have had many Christmas dinner with my late in-laws, there and it’s so beautiful.

Remembering the fallen fire fighters...Before dawn Friday, firefighters build a small memorial to honor 'Hall' and 'Quinones'.... A formal memorial is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at Dodger Stadium..

Pray for and remember the hero's fighting these beastly fires...
