A DISCOURAGING WORD FOR AL “THE ENTERAINER” FRANKEN
Here’s a powerful anti-Democratic campaign issue just begging for 30-second TV spot ads.

Democrat Al Franken raised $26 million from Hollywood celebs.

He gave $25 million and change to other Democrat candidates (a bribe to get these Democrats on his side).

Thank to Weinstein, Peckerwood’s under siege as the “Perv Capital of The World........and tone-deaf Franken’s sucking up money from he likes of Harvey Weinstein clones and giving it to Democrat campaigns?

Yeah, Al, like voters are gonna love that.

“BTW Al, you can forget about your long-held dream of being president....that pic of you cupping the breasts of a sleeping woman is your lasting legacy as a politician.”

Why should Franken get to decide if he goes or stays?

Franken, GTH out of my government....this means you.

A Minnesota paper editorialized Al Franken’s “apology” .........didn’t like it.....said it sounded like he’s sorry for what “you think I did.”

But will the ladies still wear barely naked gowns for the red carpet parade?

From Wikipedia, the free encycloped.

“1934 Motion Picture Production Code cover
The Motion Picture Production Code was the set of industry moral guidelines that was applied to most United States motion pictures released by major studios from 1930 to 1968. It is also popularly known as the Hays Code, after Will H. Hays, who was the president of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) from 1922 to 1945. Under Hays’ leadership, the MPPDA, later known as the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), adopted the Production Code in 1930 and began strictly enforcing it in 1934. The Production Code spelled out what was acceptable and what was unacceptable content for motion pictures produced for a public audience in the United States.

From 1934 to 1954, the code was closely identified with Joseph Breen, the administrator appointed by Hays to enforce the code in Hollywood. The film industry followed the guidelines set by the code well into the late 1950s, but during this time the code began to weaken due to the combined impact of television, influence from foreign films, bold directors (such as Otto Preminger) pushing boundaries, and intervention from the courts, including the Supreme Court.[1][2] In 1968, after several years of minimal enforcement, the Production Code was replaced by the MPAA film rating system.”

So what I get from this is that Hollywood replaced the standards of decency back in the 50’s with the MPAA ratings system which seems to have gone downhill ever since. IOW there is no standard and the Awards ethics statement is pretty much hollow words. If you don’t have ethics a policy isn’t going to change you. Roman Polanski is an example.

Soooo....there not going to be doing the Oscars anymore?!?
I’m not exactly sure what they are saying with this announcement.

Honestly, I am confused; do they not see the stuff that Hollywood produces and puts on the screen?

“Standards of decency”

I doubt they have a clear understanding of what those are.

Codes of conduct are nothing more than social justice warrior rules of engagement. These are not designed to make movies better or further the goal of movie crafting but to separate out anybody that doesn’t adhere to groupthink. Oh it starts with Weinstein but it’ll promptly be used to bar conservatives from getting oscars and guaranteeing that if a movie contains one gay transgender woman that it’ll automatically win or get a special award.

I know. If Hollywood doesn’t recognize religion, then how do they know what a standard of decency is? Based on what? Look they just put out a movie on pedophilia.

And just what are those “standards of decency”.

__________________________________________________

Exactly. Watch a typical Hollywood movie and see standards that are sick, obscene, perverted, filthy, course, rude, dangerous, unhealthy and worse.

So now? Now Hollywood is clutching their peals at how they themselves have mirrored those standards for decades?

Rich. This is just too rich.

True.
The seats would be empty at the ceremony.
Gotta wonder whether they will have cameras pointing at the audience - they will certainly have an audience, but a lot more nobodies in it than previously.
