Correction, McCabe’s proper title (for the moment) is DEPUTY DIRECTOR of the FBI, i.e., the #2 for the entire agency. Formerly it was known as “Associate” Director, but NOT “Assistant” Director. Might seem like a small point, but in such a hierarchical organization the #2 position is hugely important, almost like the “Chief Operating Officer.”
McCabe is not just one of many flunkies, he is at the pinnacle of the FBI and was Acting Director for a while when Comey had been fired.
