There are many interpretations of why he became a Republican, but the fact that he was a Trotskyite Communist while at Columbia is indisputable. My interpretation is the view of many historians. That Irving Kristol and other big government Republicans like (Skull and Bones member) Willam f Buckley are real conservatives is doubtful.

Many of the people who played a role in conservative intellectual life had roots on the left. In the same way, a lot of people who voted for conservative candidates had started out as Democrats, Ronald Reagan, for example. Donald Trump, for that matter.
He knows exactly what the Sunday Talk Shows wants to hear from “Republicans”.
Kristol is like a nasty drunk. When he lost face by trying everything to defeat Trump and Trump still won, Kristol responded bitterly as the sad, hateful, pitiful little man he has always been.

Many people are arguing that the Mueller investigation is critical. The Left, last week, claimed that President Trump is going to stop the investigation and that would cause a constitutional crisis. Even interviewers on Fox News, including Establishment schill Chris Wallace, think the investigation is legitimate.
To anyone who argues that this farce of an investigation should continue, ask them this question:
“What, specifically, makes you think the Trump campaign colluded with Russia? “
There is no good answer to that question.
The only pretext for the investigation —the Russian dossier — was totally bogus. Ask anybody that question and it stops them cold. They cannot answer.

This is what I think about what you wrote:
The people you listed, sans Kristol, are really Americans who spent too much time in the realm of politics to understand that politicians are exactly what we do not need. Once they saw President Trump getting things done they were not only smart enough to start agreeing with President Trump they were American enough to do so.
Kristol is neither a true American nor is he a Conservative. He is one of the dilettantes who thinks he is above all American citizens and thinks he should be one of the elites who should rule over us.
