so, do i get to put up power generators in an area that i know will have migratory birds ?
Another brainless "rule" issued by the fake American-African, and administered by imbecile unelected and unacountable moron bureaucrats...
Way to drain the DC swamp!!
How about the similar draconian rule about picking up an eagle feather that was shed by a bird?
From the article... In its final weeks, the Obama administration issued a legal opinion stating that the law does include the incidental killing of birds... Missed that the first time but I think that since it was in the 'final weeks', you are very likely right.
However, Alexander Cockburn writes:...One, as just noted, many Nazi leaders harboured affection towards animals but antipathy to humans. Hitler was given films by a maharaja which displayed animals killing people. The Führer watched with equanimity. Another film showed humans killing animals. Hitler covered his eyes and begged to be told when the slaughter was over.[30]
Yes, as long as you agree to defend your wind turbine with shotguns, dogs and decoys and eat those Kamikaze ducks and geese.
The dogs will help.

Bravo!

the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service was actively controlling their numbers by systematically oiling their nesting sites until an environmental group known as PEER filed a lawsuit with a federal judge who put a halt to the USFWS's actions back in 2016 and only allowed them to "MONITOR" and count the nesting sites.
What's really interesting is that PEER's ( Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility)website professes to be a watch dog group protecting government employee whistle blowers but once you delve into the their website, you will find that they are actually an environmental waco group with a down loadable manual on how to become activists and plan and organize protests..........

The “Siting” of wind-farms took a long time but were plentiful during the Obama administration. That ADMINISTRATION, i.e the White House, EPA, Dept. of Interior, etc. were the ones who allowed the “sites” to be chosen/authorized. Therefore they are the one who should HAVE BEEN held responsible for the killing of birds, bats, etc.
Did any governmental agency do anything about it? I don’t recall them doing anything about the massive solar panel complexes that actually fried birds on the wing. Does the scandal name “Solydra” ring a bell, like in a $570 MILLION dollar scandal that ripped offed the taxpayers while Obama got a lot of mullah donations from that company and others like them. And most of them failed but never returned any money to the treasury. One has to wonder WHY?
Captain Obvious has the answer.
What Pres. Trump and Interior have done now is just to leave things in place but I’m sure the next set of wind-power sites will be checked very carefully so as to protect our flying creatures. They had better be checked. We conservatives also like to protect our wildlife. It is not a monopoly for treehuggers and PETA vegans.
PS: I have more wildlife in my yard than a fraternity party on a weekend, and we protect them. Unfortunately a newcomer to the ‘hood’, a Coopers Hawk, got our small opossum who came up on the porch to eat some cat food.
And the red fox seems to have thinned out the rabbit population. Perhaps the coyote will eat the fox. The deer like to go down to the 7-11 area, perhaps for a sloppy. Our longtime friendly raccoon drops by for dinner a lot, which doesn’t make our cats very happy (I think the mask scares them).
Lawn mowers got most of the snakes. They were cute, esp. the baby ones. Looked like little worms. Chipmunks are gone unfortunately. Apartment condo development chased them out.
My cats got the rats but we are still often overrun with mice. Anybody want some, for free, shipping paid for?
We used to have a beaver and a muskrat family down by the large creek. Either they moved or the illegals ate them.
Now all this is within about three blocks of my house. It is fascinating to watch nature’s creatures just being themselves. I prefer them to some liberals who live nearby. These animals, including the bats, eat harmful insects and other pests. Liberals are just garden variety pests who can vote. Not fair.
When did the Obola administration penalize the wind turbine companies for their daily slaughter of local raptors and hundreds of migrating birds.

How about outlawing windmills?
Confirms null and void’s post #12.
I see no mention of bird kills by wind turbines.
Apparently 0blowhard’s regulation was politically selective ... like most of his actions.
How about outlawing Enviroterrorists and Environazis?

Why????
Makes no sense to me.
Wind power is grossly wasteful of land and resources!

Most people don't.
We were one of the first communities in IN to successfully beat Big blow from building near me.
We convinced the Board of Zoning Appeals to force JUWI (German company) into a "Property Value Guarantee" arrangement .
Though they made big claims that it doesn't hurt the property value of non-leaseholder neighbors, they sure wouldn't put their money where their mouth was.
My bad, they did mention wind turbines.
I heard a joke on the radio 20 years ago -— politically-incorrect though.
Guy shoots a Condor. Eats it. Gets arrested by the game warden. Hauled before a judge he claims he didn’t know it was protected. Judge lets him off with a small fine.
Judge pulls him aside and says, “Well, I gotta know, what does a rare Condor taste like?”
Gus says: “Oh, it’s sort of a cross between an Eagle and a Spotted Owl”.
