These people should take a bus trip on a mountainous road somewhere like Chile, Peru, India, Nepal, Pakistan or even Thailand.(I had to get Thailand in there.) Builds character and prepares one to meet his maker.
40 years ago in Thailand, my wife and I took a local bus over the mountains to Chang Mai on our honeymoon trip. No guard rails, steep slopes, shocks and suspension completely shot. Driver used both sides of the 2-lane road. In the middle of curves where there were memorials to those who’d perished before, the driver would let go of the steering wheel lift his hands as though in prayer. The Thai monks in the back weren’t at all bothered - they were probably riding for free and get reborn anyway. I was freaked out.
We used to call the buses “orange crush” because they were orange and often seen in roadside junkyards with the front half completely smashed like an accordion.
There’s at least one road in Arizona that’s scary as hell. 2-lane, cut in the side of a cliff, no shoulder and nowhere to go except about 300 feet down. Scary as hell. I passed a spot where two vehicles had a head-on just prior. Huge burn spot, many casualties because neither driver wanted to go over the cliff.

I really don’t think many locals freaked out cause the sirens didn’t go off, was only a cell phone alert.
