What would really be sweet is for the President to announce he would authorize backpay for those who were required to work during any shutdown. The others could go and talk to their representatives!
Please don’t throw us in to that briar patch, Br’er Dems!
Please don’t throw me in that briar patch!
Shut! It! Down!
I can’t wait, it’ll be just like the NFL. They’ll go proudly, sanctimoniously into that great battle and find that they are fighting by themselves.
The Author has an interesting name.
No vowels.
Maybe from some south seas island?
Wait here
I’ll get my jumper cables.
OHHH NOOOOOOO!
Not the briar Patch!
Yes, he’s from the Samoan Schlichters.
Just make sure the military and civil service get paid; especially the military.
The best thing ever.....would be for Trump to withhold pay from Democrat congresspeople.... and channel it to the military.
The others could go and talk to their representatives! <<<
Yup..and what ever those representatives kicked in...they could split between themselves.....’cause Uncle Sammy ain’t paying ya to not work no more....
Oh, my bad . . . Kurt Schlichter
I need another cuppa
NO!
"Civil" Service is a major component of the rot.
A restructured "civil" service? Maybe.
I agree. Shut it down. After all the dems want deficit reduction. Ha ha. Leaves more money for a wall.
It might backfire on the Dems...

Maybe you don't understand what some of the civil servant workers do. They are the support for the military so the troops can do their job. Some work in VA clinics and hospitals. Many work in procurement keeping the flow of supplies and food flowing smoothly.
I suspect you are thinking of a lot of the dead weight the last Admin hired and the bloat in general. In that case I would agree; they do need to be thinned out or simply laid off. From what I understand; this Admin is thinning the herd but it's no easy task with a lot of push back. It needs to happen though so the budget can be balanced and there isn't all the extra pension plans to fund for 10-30 years after people retire that comes out of taxpayer money. I get that.
Montgomery County just north of DC is claiming they loose $50 million a day.....haha
