Exactly!
He’s the chief executive officer and commander in chief.
If the congress abdicates its responsibility to fund the necessary and constitutionally authorized departments of government, then he should declare a state of emergency and take emergency measures to see that the essential departments are operating as long as the money holds out

If it means shuttering the EPA, HUD, labor dept, Energy Dept, Education Dept, USDA, and a whole host of other ABC agencies then shutter them.
If it means termination a whole passel of unconstitutionally politicized and weaponized judges and shutting down half the federal judiciary, then shut it down.
If it means not funding planned parenthood, Obamacare, the UN, foreign aid, and a whole bunch of other nonessential crap, then pull their funding.
If it means cutting the rest of the feds by 50% or more, then cut them.
If it means not funding and not subsidizing a bunch of money wasting (bullet train to nowhere) liberal sanctuary states, then stop funding and subsidizing them.
If it means not funding universities and schools that propagandize and brain-wash our youth with godless marxist claptrap, then stop funding or subsidizing them.

But his primary duty is the defense of the nation so he should fully fund the military and border security!
I took the liberty of using some creative editing for emphasis. The words are exactly as you posted them.

Agree the left never crosses the isle because the left is the media and they still control public opinion, people right here on FR post something from NYT, WaPo, CNN daily and so goes the list and part of the narrative I hear on FR comes from those sources.

I try to avoid letting the Leftist media snooker me. There are times when I catch myself doing so by accident, but it's not very often that I do.

Here Lindsey Graham is out there saying he'll go to bat for the other team, AGAIN! Will Mitch McConnell make it cost him? Will he get booted from committee memberships? Will he lose backing for state projects he supports? No. Our side does whatever the heck they want, and the leadership lets them do it, with smiles on their faces.

The left has successfully turned us against each other. This wedge is what divides and hinders any advancement for civilization by republicans or any opponent of the left. Until we figure this out there simply is not going to be a great deal of change.

The Left hasn't turned us against each other. The GOPe was never on our side. When they go after our Conservative candidates like Judge Roy Moore, it's because they don't want another Conservative in the Senate.

When the rank and file goes against Lindsey Graham when he pulls one of these routines, we are against him for supporting Leftist ideology. The media didn't turn our leadership or us against each other. We're playing for two different teams. What's more, you know that.

Stop amd think for 60 seconds here and ask how did Barack Hussein Obama, a Muslim that lived in another country for much of his life—that hated this country and ridiculed Christians openly— serve 8 FRICKING years in the WH?

You know why. I shouldn't have to tell you. Our leaders didn't mind what he was doing. They never forced him to show a real birth certificate. They only stood up to him when they were sure they couldn't prevail. It was all a big fake game they play, and they play it continually at our expense.

Did the republicans freeze his agenda? Did he have to use executive orders to get anything done? How many republicans voted for his hijacking of healthcare?

Exactly right. Did the media force our side to roll over on Obamacare?

Why is it we can't block anything when we have the minority, and can't get much passed when we have the majority?

Yes, they passed the tax bill. Remember, they couldn't repeal Obamacare. They didn't defund Planned Parenthood.

They ARE NOT on our side. Only Trump is.

Trump is a very good man, we agree there, but he is not the only good man in congress. There’s a hundred more. Like it or not Ted Cruz, Paul and dozens more are good men.

The old media put BHO in the White House. That’s called power and influence when the worst leader to ever hold a post in the US shits in and on our country for 8 years. The republicans had nothing to do with putting this filthy African Muslim in power;, that was the old media and he was defended as the race-King. The old media has made race a weaponized sledgehammer to kill all opponents to leftists Africans. It won’t surprise me to see Doprah next.

For the record I live in a distant state but I sent Roy Moore a contribution. He too is a good man but I suspect the guy he beat in the primary was a good man too and would have supported Trump. This is Alabama, not some claptrap place like the R-bitch from Maine, another demrat with a republican pantsuit on.

Obamacare is not done and just to remind you not a single repub, even the Lindsay fag, voted for it. We no longer are forced to buy insurance if we don’t want too. That is ended for now. I suspect more changes to come. How is Trump getting so much done? Why don’t the demrats stop him? Their media is constantly attacking him yet, the republicans got through a tax cut. You may consider that insignificant, but it is not. Don’t we have a conservative SCOTUS now? Is that insignificant? They tried to Bork him and failed.

You and people like you are the reason folks like McConnell and Ryan don’t have to support our cause.

Here you are convinced they did everything they could for the cause.

Good freakin grief.

That good man Ted Cruz, told Moore to step aside, and that he should face criminal prosecution if the charges the women made were true.

That was within days of them making the charges, before they could be vetted. Then as time went by, their stories had big holes.

We don’t have 100 more good men in Congress. We have very few at all in the Senate. We needed Moore very badly.

Ted never withdrew his objection, to my knowledge.

Air conditioning ruined the United States. Before that just about everybody abandoned Washington for the summer and did very little. It was effectively the shut down you and I desire.

Just so you are well aware of what you advocate. The “essential” personnel are those who over the past 12 years have maneuvered themselves into authority within the government without any oversight, other than to promote from below to cover the corruption of their seniors.

When the furlough occurs, they just request more funds to contract out the work they lack the personnel to perform.

These same “essential” personnel are so spoinled that they insist they no longer need officers in their chain of command and seek to remove all of them to fund even higher positions for themselves. They are insatiable in their greed for power and more authority. They don’t believe in staffing or planning, only barking out commands to meet their juvenile 3rd grade mentality maturity levels.

The “non-essentials” who have been cornered away, have been those who believ in the Constitution and seek to MAGA.

The “essentials” privately brag and laugh about the Constitution and anybody who believes in it. They really hate God and any Christians they run into in their worldly lusts.

Knock yourself out. Get rid of the non-essentials, but when you do it, cut the budgets and resources of those who have maneuvered into their positions.

If you want to effectively target inefficiency, go after those who have risen in power quickly over the last 8-12 years while they removed more seasoned dedicated faithful employees out the command.

Interesting.

The only thing the GOP would support is the tax bill.

Trump had better have a great plan for mid terms. The GOP is doing all it can to through the election.

Friday marks the 45th March for Life in Washington, D.C. Tens of thousands of pro-life activists have arrived in the nation’s capital to defend the rights of unborn children. What better day to pass a piece of legislation that protects those precious lives.

PASSED: The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. All life is worthy of our protection, and as representatives of the people, it is our responsibility to make sure our laws reflect that. pic.twitter.com/kQtuMg2Esm— House Republicans (@HouseGOP) January 19, 2018

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act passed by a vote of 241-183. Many would agree that it’s not only a piece of pro-life legislation, but one that is rooted in

Does it defund Planned Parenthood?

Does it prevent late term abortions in all 50 states?

Does it limit abortions to the first 90 or 120 days?

I’m not looking for the perfect man. I’m looking for any man that will take up our cause and run with it.

You are too easily placated.

No, I’m just use to an African shitting on the country for 8 years. Your expectations are highly inflated. Just relax, more change is coming. Read Newt’s assessment.

Trump promised to appoint conservative judges to the federal courts. With advice from Leonard Leo, Executive Vice President of the Federalist Society and remarkable leadership in the Senate by Mitch McConnell, President Trump has delivered Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch, a justice dramatically more conservative than anyone Hillary Clinton would have appointed. Additionally, in Trump’s first 12 months, 12 Appellate Court Judges have been approved by the Senate. As Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) pointed out, no other first-year president has seated this many Appellate Court Judges in the 228-year history of the court.

Federal Marshals Service is not “non-essential” it continues. Warrants are made for arrest are carried out by the Marshals.

Wifey says I need to get new, lame jokes to tell the waitresses; as she's hear them hundreds of times.

"No", says I, "I continually get new audiences, so I can use the jokes over and over."

So; the new folks that have never heard of a 'government shutdown' can get scammed by the Libs old trick.

The question:

Will the REST of us who've seen it used again and again be like Charlie Brown and the football?

“Air conditioning ruined the United States.”

Interesting. I think a lot of technology has backfired - the PC and smart phones used to be tools to give the user access to a huge amount of data and processing capabilities.

Now the purpose of that technology is to give merchants access to the user so that they can bury them in unwanted spam and solicitations.

“...the military doesn’t get shut down, still gets paid....So people may have gotten to worried here unnecessarily.”

I’m sure you’re right, but my worry is the opposite - that nothing really shuts down - and I wish it would.

Who decides what is “essential”? Even the definition of military gets blurry - if it’s anything related to national security, I doubt the quasi military in the FBI, CIA, NSA, DOJ, DOS, etc, would shut down.

In short, the entire deep state and shadow government that Trump is battling - they would keep on subverting the will of the people during a “shutdown”.

The only services shut down would be high profile items that will make a good anti-republican news story about granny being thrown over a cliff and whatnot.

It’s all done for show, so the democrats can hold republicans hostage.

I hope Trump just calls their bluff - if he caves that’s like paying a blackmailer ransom - it only encourages more blackmailing.

It has ALWAYS been so.

Columbus and the other 'explorers' were looking for a shorter trade route...

When some company does it faster, better or cheaper than another; their market share will grow and grow.

The Pony Express was a GREAT! idea!! But it only lasted about 18 months; then the TELEGRAPH sent info MUCH faster and cheaper.

Frieght wagons, trundling across the plains delievered LOTS of stuff: and then the railroads came...

“Columbus and the other ‘explorers’ were looking for a shorter trade route...”

I’m not talking about better trade routes and distribution - that benifits people on both sides of a transaction. I’m talking about marketing practices that benifit the merchant but actually lower consumers’ standard of living.

This has not always been the case.

A good example is the department store strategy of purposely making it difficult to find what you are looking for. They want you to get lost, walk down every aisle so you’ll pass by as many items as possible.

Another example is pop up links disguised as a download button - they purposely send you on a wild goose chase and obstruct your effort to read what you want to read, or download what you want to download.

Post offices used to deliver mail in exchange for the price of a stamp. Now they earn money by stuffing your mailbox with unwanted flyers.

They have calculated that it is worth abusing and wasting the time of millions of people in order to make a couple hundred sales.

It’s the marketing equivalent of fishing with a stick of dynamite.

This has not always been the case.

So one court judge was appointed each month. Wow, that must have worn Mitch out.

Excellent leadership by Mitch McConnell? I do give Mitch credit for keeping the Goresuch slot open. We wouldn’t have Goresuch without Mitch. Beyond that, Mitch was basically doing his job. It wasn’t great shakes. He’s been the worst Senate Leader in my lifetime.

The man was a Republican leader in the Senate, and had a Republican leader in the House. Other than the tax bill, what did these men do all year? Seriously?

If you or I didn’t put out more work than what they did, we’d have been fired by May last year.

We can in the future refer to him as old soft-shoe Mitch, dragging his feet for every step he took.

Your description of him is almost comical, and makes me wonder how you contacted him to get him to dictate this for you.
