I would imagine as high as those walls are, they’d need significant depth to even stand up. 10-12 feet? Maybe some construction-type folks will know.

Actually, English archers invented the “V” symbol using forefinger and middle finger for that reason. The middle finger alone has been used since Roman times (it was known as “digitus horriblis” or somesuch).

I stand corrected. Thanks.

But the English archers did flip the bird to the French. It must have been a tradition the Romans left in England.

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

Patriots are reminded that Pres. Trump’s wall will protect the nation from two things.

Regarding illegal aliens who vote, and let’s also included misguided, low-information citizens who vote, another “wall” that actually needs to rebuilt, a “wall” that the Founding States erected, is this. It is the one that state legislatures unthinkingly destroyed when they ratified the ill-conceived 17th Amendment (17A), foolishly giving up the voices of the state legislatures in Congress by doing so, effectively repealing the whole Constitution imo.

This other “wall” needs to be rebuilt by repealing 17A. (The 16th Amendment can disappear too.)

In fact, repealing 17A would put a major dent in stopping illegal aliens and misguided citizens from voting even if the physical, southern border wall wasn’t built.

So patriots actually need to support Trump in leading the nation to build two protective walls imo.

Land mines on both sides of the wall with explosion sensors on top of the wall.

Ma deuce at 500 yard intervals in guard towers works pretty well.

No wall design is complete without a cohort of medieval taunting French.

I learn something new every single day.

We need sensors on the wall that employ AI to detect proximity movements, physical contact, and any other indications of penetration attempts be they on, over or under the wall. Upon detection, the system should initiate appropriate reporting and/or countermeasures to thwart would be intruders.

We need a Smart Wall, not just a static barrier. This wall will have to adapt over time to be effective in the future. We cannot get complacent if a wall is built. The intruders are smart, resourceful and motivated. They will be an ongoing problem for many years to come.

That would be expensive.

Why not contract with a wilderness adventure outfitter instead?

They could sell vacation packages and let US citizens man the wall. All the beer you can drink and no bag limit on beaners that violate the neutral zone.

The wall would be paid for in no time.

Cuts down on human trafficking too. That doesn’t get much consideration any more.
