I think you’re right. Polls can be skewed towards a desired outcomes as well.
Legal immigrants are also being brought in to replace native STEM workers. because the immigrants are willing to work for less than wages/salaries that the native-born were led to believe they would receive when they found work.
Nothing ‘shock’ about it.
We need a moratorium on all immigration for the time being. Sort out who needs to leave, enforce our laws, rescind chain migration, fix the whole ‘anchor baby’ thing, enforce e-verify, totally secure the border, revisit and fix the 1965 immigration fiasco and implement sensible merit based and non ethnically changing immigration.

Thanks, but unfortunately my home state of NJ provides a prime example as to why immigration won’t be stopped - or even limited very much: We’d have empty schools and ghost towns here as taxpaying Americans and their employers flee this punitive environment.

As automation increases, it will take the low level jobs first. Why bring in more and more unskilled workers?
I understand that; I’m now seeing that in the financial sector as well. The reasons Americans haven’t seen meaningful wage increases that would result from natural supply & demand is that the supply is continually increased artificially.

Exactly! Weak willed voters who continually give us the demoncrat candidates and their philosophy of kill the US a little bit at a time.
What is needed is an entirely new immigration policy. One that is inclusive not exclusive. One that is not racist and that includes every country in the world.
What is needed is an immigration policy that takes in perhaps as many as 100k people from around the world per year.
These people need to be carefully chosen to make sure they will help the country in areas that are needed. Not be a burden on the US with no welfare of any sort allowed and be willing to merge into our society not join one of their own country.
We need foreigners who want to be patriots of the US and have something to offer,not freeloaders.
The days of simply allowing massive dem voters to immigrate need to be over.
Unfortunately national socialism (as opposed to local or statewide socialism) has become so ingrained in this country that states like CA, NJ, and NY are really having a go at creating a pseudo-economy based on wealth transfers from taxpayers in other states send cash into their own (through federal programs). They’ve used federal dollars in SNAP/WIC, Section 8, Supplemental SSI, etc. to create widening areas with no wage earners who can still fill housing, schools, and Wal-Mart aisles - and will defend this policy with feigned outrage when Americans tire of feeding the least productive of the Third World in this manner.
I hope they don’t. They’ve got their surf boards out to ride the “blue wave” (heh). Don’t tell them that it’s a tsunami. Let them find out the hard way.
Um the schools would be empty for a while. But if immigration was stopped and the locusts left the field it would green up again.

I would also bet money that the Dems got KILLED in regards to polling on the Schumer Shutdown, hence their reaction yesterday.
Make no mistake about it, Trump is winning bigly with most Americans no matter what the talking heads try so desperately to get us to believe. BUILD THE WALL!
We have enough imports here ,for the time being. Let’s concentrate on making our nation stronger ,by encouraging more Americans to have larger and more skills based families.
