No matter what Trump wanted in his thoughts, the answer to if he was going after the Clintons, would be no.
If he said yes, it would always be said that he was going after her for having the nerve to run against him.
As it is, if Hillary is investigated, charged, and found guilty, it won’t appear to be the result of a vendetta he was carrying out.

Tancredo was a regular guest on George Putnam’s radio show here in SoCal back when we passed Prop 187 in 1994. Our illegal immigration bill which he supported. So I have been familiar with Tom Tancredo for a very long time.

I agree with your take, and I would add in the judges Trump is appointing. If he gets even one more SCOTUS pick this first term, he may sway the court for decades longer. If he gets two, we’ll be safe for longer than that.
Rulings today will be used for settled arguments for the next 50 to 100 years. Future SCOTUS courts will refuse to take up many cases due to rulings that will come from the Trump court.
My one thing I actually give McConnell credit for, it facilitating the SCOTUS, Appeals Court, and District Court judges Trump is appointing and getting through the Senate.
Of course that ignores the fact that this is McConnell’s job, and he shouldn’t get special credit for it, as such.
Trump has already touched so many things for the better.
This is an amazing time we live in, and I would advise the NeverTrumpers to relish the moment, because they will never live through a better time in this nation on planet Earth.

I think his reasoning was off. I understand where he was coming from, but you can’t abandon clear headed reasoning in the face of what confronted us in November of 2016.
As for 2008, I refused to vote for McCain, because I knew damned well he would screw us every bit as badly as Obama would.
So I bit the bullet and refused. I figured, why let a historically bad administration get blamed on our party? Let Obama have it, and we’ll see if the public will long for a man who loves our nation again? And they did. (I did vote for Romney, because I thought two terms would be way too much of a risk. Well, I was wrong twice there. Romney wasn’t worth it, and Obama was able to work his full magic, and the public observed.)
Look what we got from Obama being president.
If Trump winds up doing this good for eight years, it will have been way beyond the price of admission.
I know folks would be hungry after Obama. I was just off by one election. It would take two.

There are times when losing is a strategic alternative.
This (2016) was clearly NOT one of those times.
Trump’s platform was too good. If he only got 25% of what he promised done, it would be a great presidency.
He may get most of it done. Simply amazing.
I’d never admit in my lifetime I did’t vote for Trump if I were some of these folks. At the end of his terms in office, they won’t be able to claim any of it.
