The “settlers” are really the best hope for peace. We are here. We know Arabs. Arabs know us.

So take care of it, then.

Israel acquired it the only way most nations do. Through gold and blood, emerging as winners

Of course, but that's not Israel's position, and, as far as I can tell, it's a minority position among Israeli Jews.

Israel, as I understand it, pleads for some "right to exist" which rests on the twin false premises of "international law" and "UN resolutions".

What I have never understood about this is, what will they do when the UN passes a resolution ordering them out?

Obviously, Israel's "right" to the land rests on faith in God and the ability and willingness to kill anyone who objects.

Hopefully they will come to their senses and apply these principles, instead of going on and on about phony "resolutions" from a collection of despots and savages.

The disease that is, Liberalism - in all it’s forms, is quite an amazing thing. When you can’t get your way, your run to someone that can fix the problem for you. This may be in the form of taking bakers to court or suing over who can marry who, up to boycotts, protests and riots/violence.

We do not have a dog in this fight. Never have. Never will. All we have are 2 entities. We have to pick one, whose belief system most closely mirrors ours and befriend and support that one. That is it. We do not need to do anything more. In this case, Israel is the one and always has been. The USA has no right to tell them or try to convince them to build or not build anywhere. There problem, let them deal with it. The Palestinians don’t like the answer they get form the Israeli’s so they cry to the US and the UN. Let ‘em cry until they can start behaving like adults

Thanks Eleutheria5. I wouldn't worry too much about this.

Well, the problem is that America does have an interest in buying oil on the cheap, and ever since the embargo of ‘73, that requires the POTUS to stick his nose into Arab-Israeli affairs and give Israel an occasional shove to keep the oil sheiks happy, and they’re happy if they can tell their rebellious subjects that they’re making the US shove Israel around, so they are so good Muslims. The previous POTUS was very eager to do this, and he shoved hard. The present POTUS is encouraging US energy independence, which is what’s at the heart of this, and not shoving so much.

All we have are 2 entities. We have to pick one,

This is America's problem: picking sides.

Why don't we let all of the various 'sides' in the world work out their OWN solutions?

It's no WONDER we blow so much money yearly in 'foreign aid'; ending up with NEITHER 'side' liking us very much!

They're as bad as Mormons.

LOL!! There was a time on FR when that comment would have gotten you flamed big time. There was a huge contingent of them (or at least very vocal) who did it to me.

“The settlements in Judea and Samaria — the heart of the State of Israel — are preventing the gates of Islamic terror from bursting wide-open and flooding Western civilization with its evil plans for death and destruction!”

What a laughable lie. We have a problem with Muslim terrorism in the West ONLY because of Muslim immigration.

You think it’s bad now? Wait ‘til the land bridge (i.e., Israel) between Africa, Asia and Europe is opened wide. Let it never be.
