Shouldn't he have sought shelter *inside* the building, then?
Mother-may-I Rules Of Engagement. I guess they aren’t just for the military.
“Quiet, I’m hunting wabbits!”
“I dont like it and I think it is wrong - but typical training and protocol is to wait on swat and half the force to arrive before anyone does anything.”
My buddy is a state trooper. Years ago told me that if he were to ever learn of a shooting at our children’s school, he’d respond and head into the school without delay and against orders if necessary, because protocol is to surround the school and wait for the tactical units.
He said there’s a small chance the other cops would try to restrain him, but they aren’t going to shoot another officer in the back. He also said he’d rather get shot in his attempt than live knowing his neighbor’s kids died because he followed orders.
I was holding out for a much better excuse.
EXACTLY!!!
Making up his story seems have been his tactic since this began, he certainly was in front of enough cameras to get his side of the story out to the entire planet.
The loser is a coward. I bet he suicides eventually because the Truth will out.
I'm speechless.
Uh huh.
And Trayvon Martin wasn't a thug...
Movin' right along...
Not me.
I hear firecrackers and I start looking for the parade...
Maybe “Accomplice” is the more appropriate term.
But then why did other people run in?
That's what I'm thinking. A Grand Jury should be allowed to sort it out...
At best, 'dereliction of duty'.
He hears rounds going off, sees people running for their lives out of building #12, but he thinks the shooter is outside?
Gak~
As a society we have no shame anymore. 50 years ago this guy would have been shamed by the locals for it protecting the kids. Its why scared men bravely fought on D-Day, Antietam, and Bunker Hill. Its why first responders ran into the towers on 9/11. And a coach protected students by shielding then from rounds at Parllamd. These men were frightened as they should be, but the people back home counted on them to do their job and there was no turning back. Those men were honorable, this deputy....I cant really speak to his behavior.
