I suspect that both of the people who watched that drivel agree with him.

Any questions about why folks ignore the Oscars?

"“Never heard of it.”"

"“Shape of Water” won the Oscar for best picture of 2017." I never heard of it either

So did the communists. Their anthem. “The Internationale”, is all about them taking over the world and getting rid of nations.

The Internationale Lyrics

Stand up all victims of oppression
For the tyrants fear your might
Don’t cling so hard to your possessions
For you have nothing if you have no rights
Let racist ignorance be ended
For respect makes the empires fall
Freedom is merely privilege extended
Unless enjoyed by one and all

So come brothers and sisters
For the struggle carries on
The internationale
Unites the world in song
So comrades come rally
For this is the time and place
The international ideal
Unites the human race

Let no one build walls to divide us
Walls of hatred nor walls of stone
Come greet the dawn and stand beside us
We’ll live together or we’ll die alone
In our world poisoned by exploitation
Those who have taken now they must give
And end the vanity of nations
We’ve but one earth on which to live

And so begins the final drama
In the streets and in the fields
We stand unbowed before their armor
We defy their guns and shields
When we fight provoked by their aggression
Let us be inspired by like and love
For though they offer us concessions
Change will not come from above

Del Toro is right. The world would be such a better place if the whole world were run like North Korea.

I heard this was a pretty good movie. I really enjoyed “Pan’s Labyrinth.” The Strain was an excellent TV show (though I still haven’t gotten around to watch the fifth and final season.)

But politically, he’s proven himself to be a booger eating moron.

I’m proud to say that I’ve never heard of this dreck.

I have heard of the name “Del Toro”, although I don’t know why, considering I’m not familiar with any of his movies. Sounds like I haven’t missed anything.

Strangely, there are a few freepers who consider it their duty to lecture anyone who doesn’t keep up with the hollywood cretins. They believe it is our duty to give hollywood our money and that anyone who doesn’t obsess over hollywood is “uncultured” and “ignorant”.

Yes, this film really sounds very intellectual and enlightening. (MAJOR sarcasm)

The heroine has sex with an animal. That’s what Hollywood likes about it.

It took four awards, best picture among them. I still don’t get it. “Darkest Hour” HAD to be better.

“Humans mating with another species is called bestiality.”

We should probably reword that: “Humans mating with another species that obviously lack any resemblance to humans is called bestiality.” (Sorry for having to reword it, but as it is, that would have implied that JRR Tolkien promoted bestiality due to Aragorn marrying an Elf).

Other than that, I agree. And I wasn’t particularly fond of that movie even from the outtakes. Doesn’t help that I had a pretty big beef with him for siding with that jerk Hideo Kojima, who more than deserved his firing from Konami with the screw up that was Metal Gear Solid V (not to mention ruining Big Boss and Miller by making them Che Guevara fans in Peace Walker). In fact, I only liked ONE, maybe TWO at most of his films: Those two were both of the Hellboy franchise, even there, I liked it largely because that at least ATTEMPTED to promote Christianity (the climax of the first film actually had Christianity being responsible for Hellboy choosing to not bring about the Apocalypse despite it being his destiny).

I suppose it is so invasive now. But yeah i remember some 60s shows that were doing that. One with Bill Bixby in it. Marlo Thomas in That Girl. Even Dobie Gillis was trying to tell us what to think.
