No, every other country in the world is protectionist so we have to be also. What is stupid is listening to Free Traitors™.
What Free Traitors™ want you to believe is that the supply function is static and no new domestic suppliers will EVER come on line. Despite their best efforts to the contrary, brand new factories are still being built in the USA all the time. Not as many as are closed mind you, but the situation is dynamic and not static. With more domestic supply will mean pressure to reduce prices.
The mental midgets we lovingly call Free Traitors™ are some of the stupidest people on earth.
The markets are responding negativity to the childish 7/24 temper tantrum hysteria from the globalist free traitor cabal. The tariff has nothing to do with it. They are spreading fear over a good thing. I hate them all because they are dong it on purpose.

You don’t like hearing that by operation, U.S. tariffs will force higher prices on those items upon which U.S. tariffs which is of course true because tariffs are a tax on American distributors forcing higher costs and prices on those targeted goods.

However, you fail to address the fact that although government-forced higher prices on a particular import may help certain industry special interests who have lobbied for such protection, the American consumer, the rest of American OEM enterprise, and, thus, the economy in general, suffers accordingly from such. U.S. protective tariffs are a net loss for America.
