The Pathway Home just released the names of the three women who were killed. They are: - Christine Loeber, executive director - Dr. Jen Golick, therapist - Dr. Jennifer Gonzales, psychologist with the SF Dept. of Veterans Affairs Healthcare System

Napa County just confirmed the name of the gunman: 36-year-old Albert Wong, of Sacramento. Stay tuned to @jjpressdem, who has been learning as much as she could about him all day. pic.twitter.com/tybMD5GOvu

It would appear that all three of the women were part of the process that pushed the guy out of some therapy program. It would be curious to know what exactly the VA or the program had dished out to the guy in terms of prescription pills but I doubt if we will ever hear that story.

California doesn’t allow any armed security.

Unless of course if you are a Hollyweird celebrity or an elected official.

I talked to a good friend of mine tonight (who is a veteran here in CA), and he said this was one of, if not the only STATE-RUN Veterans’ homes...therefore, no one was allowed to be armed according to CA law.

Shocking!!

Another gunman enters a Gun Free Zone and kills multiple innocent people.

So many people scoffing the law. How can that be.

I am not up to speed on this matter, and I am not a veteran, but I talked to a good friend of mine tonight (who is a veteran here in CA), and he said this was one of, if not the only STATE-RUN Veterans’ homes...therefore, no one was allowed to be armed according to CA law.

Apparently state law does not prohibit the officers from being armed but the decision has been made that they won’t be armed.

In 2012, Gov. Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would have required the Department of State Hospitals to begin arming CSLEA-represented officers at its sites. The bill passed unanimously in the Senate and by a 78-1 margin in the Assembly.

"I am sensitive to the unique challenges of providing security in our states' mental hospitals," he wrote. "This is a matter, however, best left to the discretion of the department director who already has authority to arm its officers."

My guess is that the director does not have it in the budget to arm the officers. The Union probably wants the officers armed to put a bunch of the officers in a higher wage grade.

Usually in the private sector an armed security guard gets a couple dollars an hour extra pay.

My guess in a government union it can only be more.

Here it probably comes down to money.

You are so perceptive.

Because there would never be anything wrong with the guy to ever have warranted providing him with medications s/

Or mad because he was kicked out of the home.

Three beautiful lives lost while dedicating their lives to helping veterans. So tragic.

Vets are not medicated by the docs in PTSD programs. They are only prescribed meds by docs in the hospitals. So, how good are the hospitals? This happened at a home for vets, not a medical center, not a hospital.

Poor postmen get such a bad rap :)

It’s been a while since that rash of postman insanity, no?

If I sorted mail all day or stuffed it into countless mailboxes all day, I might lose my mind too. :)

"Vets are not medicated by the docs in PTSD programs. They are only prescribed meds by docs in the hospitals. So, how good are the hospitals? This happened at a home for vets, not a medical center, not a hospital."

Psychologists evaluate and talk or listen to patients. Psychiatrists are doctors who prescribe drugs based on information from psychologists. Many psychiatrists prescribe drugs from small clinics or any place where psychologists work.

Those of us who are prior service should be running records checks on all individuals who are publicized in controversial stories, claim to be veterans and also say that they have "PTSD." It's obvious to some of us, that there are discrepancies in some of the related stories from news companies.

Just a possibility but, maybe staff kicked him out for faking. I don't think the VA or private shrinks have access to service records to debunk fake claims. If he was betting on a 100% VA disability rating for life at a payout over $3k a month and lost out because they kicked him out, that could trigger a revenge action. Maybe their clinical notes will pinpoint the reason, but revenge is one possibility.

That’s what I was thinking. Found several who were making up stories so far. There were many fakes—some of them drug addicts—claiming “delayed stress” syndrome or disorder during the ‘70s. Some had no service record.

Others claimed combat MOSs after only having served in other specialties. Most soldiers or Marines in infantry-related combat specialties are stuck in the field and don’t have opportunities to get near built-up areas for alcohol or drugs in foreign hardship tours (no passes, maybe one leave).

People can get some information, but it takes quite a bit of time because of workloads at records.

I'm skeptical about whether we'll get any information from the office of a psychology therapist who graduated from Davis in CA. That university has produced, among other things, some radical lefties who've posed as Nazis to associate with and defame conservative political and social efforts.

It would be nice to see more real info, though.
