She knows that an unverified claim of Cherokee ancestry way back doesn’t carry the clout of black or Hispanic ancestry. Kamala Harris doesn’t need to take a DNA test to have people believe she has black and Asian ancestry. The Democrats have not won with a white person at the top of the ticket since 1996.
Isn’t it fairly easy to obtain dna.....water glass, fork, etc.

My wife has researched her heritage and she is 5/16 Cherokee and the rest Danish/Scotch/Iris. Complexion wise she is casper white, the only inkling of Indian is cheekbones and dark brown eyes. Her Mom looks like a Indian princess, go figure...
If she decides to run..if she changes her mind...then I would start hitting her with that DNA testing again...just beat her to death with it...keep on calling her bluff.

I kind of get it - her story about why she says she has Indian in her bloodline. Our family has that same lore with no proof. (Although Indians we’ve met have recognized it - not sure how.) Of course, nobody in my family ever tried to exploit that to get a leg up in a career. That’s the difference.

Probably not. Massachusetts tends to keep reelecting incumbent Democrats. The only real shot Republicans have is when there's a vacancy.
Plus there's nobody with much name recognition running against her. And suburban swing voters will probably go Democrat because they still don't like Trump.
She won't lose.
But she's got the approval of the party establishment and the liberal groups and hasn't done anything to antagonize them so nobody on her left would get in.
Interesting data. It ought to be coordinated with her husband’s data as well. I thought she got the Harvard job because they wanted him. But it looks like they could have been angling for her as a “minority” hire.

You make some very convincing arguments.
I will change my position to: she may try to run again.
She has enough flatters, hanger-ons and sycophants to convince her that she was cheated out of the presidency and she should run again.
However, the major donors, party leaders, and so forth may have had enough of her. If Warren is not running in 2020; some may look to Hillary to try a comeback.
