Junior Brown was the best thing to come out of Austin. Used to play at the Continental Club for years before the whole SXSW hit. I encourage all FReepers to give him a listen.

Best SXSW moment was the 1990s relaunch of Johnny Cash’s career among younger audiences at Emo’s (alternative punk club). It put him in the trajectory for his final albums.

Oh, there must be ones for San Antonio and Houston. El Paso is big enough for one, too, but they are often overlooked among the big cities of Texas.

Victims are African American. That's interesting. Achmed runs down the street stabbing people and the police "wonder about a motive'.
But in this case, the cops have it all figured out.

Jeff Ward is the afternoon drive host for KLBJ. Used to play football, now he does radio and some teaching (marketing?) at UT.
Stories like this one and somehow tying them to rants against Trump are what he lives for.

Football player, NASCAR Driver, Drive Time Host, a college professor and Trump Hater?
Sounds like he has a lot on his plate.

It is the media lying to viewers and playing the race card. The officer at the press conference said that they have no motive or component that ties the victims together. The Austin PD went so far as to say they don’t even know if the intended victims were the ones who opened the packages (wrong person or wrong house).
The houses are on both sides of the river, not common neighborhoods.
And he’s trying to get out in front of this to say that people need to be vigilant in what they see with SXSW in town. Hundreds of thousands of visitors out on the streets, in tight packed crowds, and on patios.

The radio and Trump-bashing by go hand-in-hand. Football is in his past. Wasnt aware of the NASCAR thing.

Pat Green had one hit. He even admitted he didn’t have a follow up.
As for the other two named I stopped listening to crappy music in the 99s so I don’t know them

Someone I just met at an event that seemed to know what he was talking about told me this Northeast Austin event was an Antifa guy getting killed when his own bomb he was making went off by mistake.

Was that the first victim from March 2nd? I don’t think they think that any more.
To: a fool in paradise
So they have quietly let the Unabomber out on parole, I see.
