The Church used that book for centuries.
And, for the most part, courts, back then, especially those dealing with "witches", were run by priests and bishops.
What I was thinking of was a church court, where the author-to-be was told basically to take his ridiculous accusations and go or risk vengeance rightly from the wifes family, then he went off and wrote a book which dominated the argument for centuries.
Apparently, yes. That is the title. Thanks.
A Catholic priest's "wife's family" ? In the 1400s ?
Can you state your source/s for that statement, please?
Okay, glad I could be of help. :-)
Apparently I was *very* unclear.
My recollection is:
There was a church court. The priest running it was listening to (apparently) Kramer, who was making wild perverse accusations against a woman. The priest running the court didn't buy what Kramer was selling, warned Keller to watch his tongue or risk vengeance from the woman's husband and family, then sent Kramer off.
Kramer then went off and wrote a truly misogynistic book about his theories, and with it and a few accompanying forgeries dominated the argument for centuries - albeit mostly in non-church courts.
Agree100%
