I wish for you my friends and family that the Light will shine on you, in you and through you on this special day.
I know I share the struggle with many of my Christian acquaintance concerning issues with secular friends who don’t agree, snidely mock, to down right openly show contempt for my faith walk. We are thought of as intellectually inferior for spiritual agendas. We are laughed at for belief in the suspension of the laws of nature(AKA miracles), we are ridiculed for believing in an afterlife and places such as Heaven and (horrors) Hell. In parts of the world Christians are tortured and executed for their faith. We are told to be prepared for all manners of this for our belief
Just some random thoughts here and there on Resurrection Day, one of the three most critical events in the Christian faith. Like a good ADD random is REALLY random for me.
Christianity, the NEED for the crucifixion, and the empty tomb are not merely fun “holidays” or a vague religious philosophical benchmarks. For believers they are the essence and soul of our existence. They define the hope we possess and the power we trust.
For skeptics , the resurrection is one of the most historically documented and recognized and noted events of the era. We operate on faith but we can be grateful for those who did and documented the events.
As a Chaplain who worked with AIDS, Cancer and other end of life individuals, I can attest there are VERY FEW atheists in “foxholes” or with those approaching their step into eternity. Ones mocking changes to fear and seeking, digging into the memories of early “God things”, often terror in remembering the deeds and words of their life.
And today happen’s to be April Fools Day... some irony here
