Barton’s history of America’s founding isn’t very good. He’s as off base as the militantly secularist who argue the other side.
If you want history worth reading Mel Bradford is as good as it gets:
Religion and the Framers
A Worthy Company
Original Intentions
A Better Guide Than Reason
The Reactionary Imperative
Get them all for your son, he will be formidable.
Bradford is the scholar who was intended to head the National Endowment for the Humanities under Reagan- until he was character-assassinated by neocons who wanted that spot for their pal Bill Bennett. And true to their leftist roots they were willing to resort to slander and libel to do it. It’s the event that taught me that neocons are all about political power and influence and little else.
So where’s the memorial to the whites who were lynched? Just asking a rhetorical question...
Lol, the Oprah who claimed “millions” of blacks were lynched?
Tks
Excellent post.
The professor quote I posted was the constant “presentism” being applied by social justice warriors, who take history out of context of the times.
You have categorized the “assumptive” experts here on FR rather well, who willfully don’t know what they don’t know. It is a choice in support of an agenda, clear or obfuscated.
