“Its all a big FU to the congress and the president.”

Nope,it’s a big FU to us,the people that voted him in.

Louie Gohmert is the only other House ‘critter who comes to mind as being at all useful.

There are likely 10’s of others, but they don’t immediately come to mind.

Totally agree about Louie. He’s been consistently principled. A great American.

(Louie if you’re reading this, my apoligies for the omission.)

The difference between the anal probe the Obambi administration is getting is that the government doesn’t have attorney client privilege or any privilege to cover up what it does. Private citizens have a right to private communications with their attorneys.

The Swamp was never drained. This is not only the one campaign promise that is a dud, it is what very well may bring the Administration down. The DOJ and FBI among other agencies are treasonous as this is a coup. I would have fired every single high level official. There is very little loyalty to the President in Swamp DC.

The real trouble is when the millions of Trump voters give up on the process.

Trump needs to learn how to rally “the Troops” to assist in Swamp Draining.

Trump has no shortage of alligators and pseudo alligators.

The FBI and DOJ don’t see themselves as accountable to anyone except their Deep State enablers and protectors.

It is quite apparent that these agencies have disdain for our system of government.

In the old USSR, the state police were very powerful. But from time to time, the maniacs at the top (e.g., Stalin or Khruschev) would take their heads and bring the agencies into line.

That's not our system, but then neither is a state bureaucracy unaccountable to Congress or the President.

Too bad he pissed Bezos off, or those cool Amazon warehouse robots could be taking care of this. Now I guess he’ll just have to drone Rosenstein in his bed as he sleeps.

Trump has the power, he needs to use it.

More properly, it's Jeff Sessions who has the power over those agencies, and it's HIS job to put a boot up their behinds - not the President's.

The real problem is, we don't have a functioning Attorney General. By all rights, the pressure to "do something" belongs squarely on his shoulders.

He should be forced to do the damn job, or go home, and allow the President to appoint an interim AG.

Trump Sessions should have ordered their release in Jan. 2017.

Fixed it for ya.

**************

The executive branch agencies are accountable to the president. A strong leader puts people in place who are able to set a new direction for the agency and get them to go along with the program. For example, If Pam Bondi was the AG I seriously doubt that the level of resistance to the president would be anywhere what it is under Sleepy Sessions. She would demand production and accountability from her staff.

The problem is, too many cabinet secretaries are appointed for political considerations. They are not strong managers and they are beholden to too many people as a result of their long political careers.

I believe that agency accontability can be achieved but only as a result of strong and capable management. Once the agency staff see’s that there are consequences for mismanagement and bureaucratic resistance, they will fall in line.

The New Sherrif needs to round up a few desperados to get respect.

In theory, the executive branch agencies are accountable to the President. In practice, there are so many employees, so much civil service protection, so much prior politics, that it is hard for that accountability to be enforced.

I don’t think that massive bureaucracies developing a life of their own is unique to the US. My point was that in the USSR, harsh measures were employed directly to keep people in line.

I agree that our agencies need a strong hand so they report to the President and don’t act to spite him. But because we don’t support the sorts of solutions Stalin employed, it takes time.

The unfortunate reality is that the vast majority of people who work in our government agencies are liberals. They have a natural antipathy towards Trump and they hate the Republican Party. There is a palpable bureaucratic resistance during every Republican administration.
