Well, I don’t pester smokers about it, but I do tell them that, of all the things you can do that are legal, it’s the worst.

You do have to pick your poison, and I accept that. But the reason it’s declining is because of how bad it is.

As an ex-cigarette smoker I entirely agree. I hate cigarettes now. But there was enormous public pressure, along with a medical consensus, that inhaling tobacco smoke into one's lungs is deadly. So my original question was why is inhaling marijuana smoke apparently OK while inhaling tobacco smoke deadly? Pot smoke can't be any better for the lungs than tobacco.

I'm sure it's NOT OK, except that there are probably no 2 PPD marijuana users.

Good. Mom, Dad and Aunt Judy smoked in their pasts. Mom has COPD, Judy died from pulmonary fibrosis in 2016, and Dad died from lung cancer last year (he quit in 1982). While I still don’t support smoking bans, I have little sympathy for people in the tobacco industry who profit from the deadly addiction.

Bout the same in Maryland. Sometimes 6. I don’t like the way the state profits from addiction, but nowadays, I don’t feel much sympathy for the smokers, either.

The only reason so many people didn’t die from smoking related illnesses when I was a child was that they simply died from other things before the illnesses manifested themselves. Nowadays, with more and more people living to a ripe old age, the effect of smoking will manifest themselves more frequently, even in people who have been non-smokers for decades, like Mom.

If you’re a smoker, and you live long, you will eventually put your friends and family through the agony of seeing you get destroyed by a smoking related illness. If you cannot put the fags down on your own, get help.

It’s not. The THC, when used a long time, can make you paranoid also.

I must not have been clear in stating my thoughts. I know inhaling smoke of ANY kind is unhealthy. My point is that there was a universal outcry over tobacco smoke. But when pot's involved it's somehow not a big deal. In fact it's supposed to be good for medical problems. Double standard anyone?

The reason of course is that people want to get high. And there's big money to be made promoting and selling pot. Ask John Boehner. I'm not holding my breath waiting for the day the heads of marijuana companies get called before Congress and condemned for poisoning the public the way tobacco executives were.

>>Everyone that ever walked the face of the earth is dead or dying——including us.<<

No reason to speed up the process. It amazes me when I watch old TV and movies how many of the actors and actresses died in their 50s or 60s and almost all from cancer.

I am just saying smoking is really bad for everyone. But I also know quitting is worse than quitting Heroin so I don’t hold it against anyone if they choose not to quit.

Still has errors. What exactly are the laws increasing?

The American Lung Association recently released a set of grades for each state, measuring the effectiveness of tobacco cessation funding, smoke-free air laws, excise taxes, access to cessation treatments and laws to increase.
