Used to go to Shakey’s Pizza Parlor for canadian bacon and pineapple pizza, cheap pitchers of beer, and ragtime music on the piano. Fun times!

They used to make an excellent shrimp pizza. My first thought was, ugh! But, it was surprisingly good.

The best pizza I have ever had is the white clam pizza at Frank Pepe's (various outlets in CT area). No tomato sauce. Just mozzarella, clams, good olive oil, a little oregano and lots of garlic.

One of our great presidents liked it too.

I was in Japan for 2 weeks in the late 90’s. I needed American food after the 1st week (They used a lot of bean paste. UGH) Hung out at Mickey D’s and Shakey’s.

And pizza with tomatoes is Italian so Hawaiians can't appropriate it by using those appropriated pineapples.

I bet that was good. Our first time in Rome, we went to one of those pizzarias right on the Main Street and were deep into enjoying our pizzas when we realized there was no cheese on them. And they were delicious.

Horse apples. Pineapple is a good counterpoint to the sauce. And there are variations of the theme: ham vs. Canadian bacon and/or smoked pork belly bacon, onions, green pepper.........a Hawaiian pizza is kick-ass good. I thumb my nose and......

to all the purists and Philistines who think otherwise. They're the same ones who think ketchup is a perfectly appropriate condiment on a hot dog.
